Pizzeria Dei Compari is described as a lively wood fired Italian spot with superb pizza, a warm atmosphere and generous portions. Guests frequently praise the crust and toppings, noting the wood fired oven flavor and saying the pizzas are among the best in town. Service is often highlighted as friendly and efficient, though it can be busy and pacing may vary during peak times. The dining room is described as noisy but lively, with outdoor seating in warm months and a central location that draws lines and makes reservations scarce. Desserts like creme brulee are well received, and pastas and sauces are also enjoyed on many visits. A few reviews mention variability in quality and portions over time, and some dishes may feel heavy or not as authentic as expected. Overall this spot is seen as a great option for pizza fans, offering good value, fast service and a distinctive Montreal Italian experience. Takeout is popular too, with long lines at times but quick pickup and a satisfying pizza fix.
Came here for my first time & I really enjoyed the Montrealer pizza as it was absolutely delicious. Its great that they still have wood oven pizzas. My partner had a calzone which looked amazing. The Caesar salad was delicious.
When it came time to paying, I felt uncomfortable as the waitress stood over me staring at the pay terminal as if she wanted to see how much I would tip. This ruined the experience for me as patrons should be given a minute without the waiter staring at the client as they pay. I guess they wanted to make sure I would give a good tip. Quebec passed a law which is low in force that it's tip before tax... I hope they're not too disappointed when clients aren't tipping higher amounts. I hope I don't see the 15 percent option removed because if that's the case I will go out of the way to give 15 or what I think they deserve based on the experience.

I've been coming here since I discovered this place back in 2016! Like they say, never change a winning team. I believe I've brought just about all my friends here because, honestly, I am deeply convinced that this is one of the best pizzas in town.
I'll admit the quality dipped a little after COVID 🥲🥲 but hey, didn't everything feel better before COVID? 😅😅
Still, whenever I'm craving a good pizza, I somehow always end up at Die Compari!
The only downside to this place is their'no reservations' policy. As it's always packed, your wait time really depends on how lucky you are when you show up!
I've experienced it all, from a quick 5-minute wait to over 40 minutes on busy summer days 😅😅 So… bring a good dose of patience with you after all it is Italian restaurant so no rush !
