Pizzeria Dei Compari serves traditional Italian-style pizzas prepared with a commitment to authentic crust textures and high-quality savory toppings. The menu highlights a variety of classic preparations that emphasize the balance between molten cheese and carefully sourced produce. Each pizza is crafted using a proven dough fermentation process that ensures a distinctively chewy and slightly crisp foundation. Patrons encounter a straightforward environment focused on the technical delivery of heat-blistered crusts and robust tomato sauces. The culinary approach prioritizes consistent flavor profiles, utilizing traditional ovens to achieve optimal charring on every circular pie. By concentrating on time-honored techniques, the kitchen maintains a focus on the fundamental elements of Mediterranean-inspired baking. This establishment stands as a destination for those seeking reliable, crust-forward pizza prepared with precision and respect for standard Italian preparation methods.
Pizzeria Dei Compari is widely celebrated as a staple in Montreal for its authentic wood-fired pizzas, fresh ingredients, and flavorful, crispy crusts. Many patrons appreciate the extensive menu, which includes quality pasta dishes, and commend the professional and welcoming service that contributes to a lively, cozy atmosphere. While the restaurant is a favorite for many seeking a reasonably priced meal with taxes included, some visitors note that the venue can become quite noisy, and a few guests have expressed concerns regarding inconsistent quality or pressure regarding gratuities. Despite varying opinions on the service environment, the general consensus is that this establishment remains a go-to destination for those craving a classic Italian dining experience.
Great service, despite it being super busy in the evenings. The food, however, is alright & nothing to write home about. If you are looking for dinner options before a show or a concert in the area, this might do. But otherwise, I'd look for somewhere else.
Merci infiniment.

Place was packed but we were lucky & got a recently vacated table by the window. Asked the lovely server which pizza she recommends & suggested to add bacon to it. It was also cut in half:). It was probably the best pizza I've ever had. Another server came & we ordered fettuccine with smoked salmon based on his resounding recommendation. I was hesitant because I normally like thin pastas but decided to try anyway. Boy, was I glad I did. The pasta was very fresh & portion was generous but we finished all of it.
The food was so good that I didn't even finish my Pinot Grigio!
Best pizza in town in my book. Discovered this gem back in my Uni days over 20+ years ago. Everything else is super delicious, but i go there to get my pizza fix. Ive tried 100's spot, some that are really close to it but it remains the top. Modest resto, nothing fancy!
Highly recommended, just try it!!
Thank you so much for the Pizza recommendation no 24, I believe. The carrot cake was delicious also. Highly recommendation both dining in or takeout. Lovely Italian restaurant!
