My grandmother & I went to Pigeon on Monkland & had such an amazing experience! The atmosphere is so positive, lively, & always buzzing. The staff are incredibly attentive & always make sure everything is perfect with the food, drinks, & overall experience. Lily is especially amazing! she always has a smile on her face, & her energy is so warm & contagious. The food is delicious too! I always get the salmon avocado toast along with one of their matchas, & it never disappoints. Definitely one of my favourite spots!
My wife & some friends had dinner at the Pigeon Cafe on Monkland Ave in Montreal this past Sunday evening. We ordered from the dinner menu at about $20 per person. The service was very good as was the food. My only complaint concerns the Margherita my wife ordered. It was watered down with very little alcohol & the restaurant charged us $16 for this tepid lime juice. Add the tax & 18% tip on top of this & we paid almost $20 for a short glass of lime juice. What a rip-off. By the way, the Margherita was not listed on the menu so we were not aware of the price until the bill came. It is enough that since the Covid pandemic we have to pay exorbitant prices in restaurants & pay their staff as well ( tips!), but do they have to steal from us for a watered-down drink to boot?

I was extremely disappointed, & I can honestly say that today was the worst experience I've had here.
I used to come to this café regularly, either by myself or with friends & family, especially when the previous manager was here. Unfortunately, over the past few visits & especially today the decline in both the quality of the service & the attitude of the staff has made me decide not to come back.
To start with, my order was charged incorrectly. When I politely asked for an explanation, I was simply told that nothing could be done & that they could'make it up to me next time.' As you can probably guess, there won't be a next time.
On top of that, the employees were standing around talking to each other while customers waited. We had to wait quite a while before someone finally came in from outside to take our order, & even then it was entered incorrectly.
The barista also made our drinks wrong. One of the mistakes was incredibly obvious-the hot & cold drinks were mixed up. When we politely asked for the order to be corrected, the response was rude, although the drink was eventually remade.
For such a small order, we ended up standing there for 18 minutes.
The most frustrating part is that this wasn't an isolated incident. The last several times I've visited, there has been a different problem every single time.
I can no longer recommend this café. If you had asked me a while ago, I would have recommended it without hesitation. Sadly, that's no longer the case. It's sad for such a good cafe to lose clients like that.
It was my first time & I will most certainly be back. Our server (Stella)? Was so kind & knowledgeable. The atmosphere is very relaxing whether you're having a meal or just drinks. My husband & I will most certainly return.
I love going to pigeon to do work on my laptop or to grab a meal with a friend! The food, drinks, & vibes are always good & the service is always friendly! Shout out to Jacob, 5 star service!💫
