My wife & some friends had dinner at the Pigeon Cafe on Monkland Ave in Montreal this past Sunday evening. We ordered from the dinner menu at about $20 per person. The service was very good as was the food. My only complaint concerns the Margherita my wife ordered. It was watered down with very little alcohol & the restaurant charged us $16 for this tepid lime juice. Add the tax & 18% tip on top of this & we paid almost $20 for a short glass of lime juice. What a rip-off. By the way, the Margherita was not listed on the menu so we were not aware of the price until the bill came. It is enough that since the Covid pandemic we have to pay exorbitant prices in restaurants & pay their staff as well ( tips!), but do they have to steal from us for a watered-down drink to boot?

The most delicious food in Montreal. Better than Maison Boulud & Le Renoir. There are a few things I would improve on to make it absolutely perfect.

1. The choice of music for Sunday Brunch at 10 am was too upbeat & tacky. Something like deep house lounge or soft cafe jazz would have been more appropriate & sophisticated.

2. The space is beautifully decorated but unfortunately not well designed to absorb sound. We were three people & could not hear each other talk, too much echo. Thankfully, we were able to move to the covered outdoor terrace where it was quieter. I would have been very disappointed if we couldn't have moved.

3. Another thing is they should build a separate washroom for employees because they only have two.

Service was excellent despite being a busy time. Can't wait to go back on the terrace only or a quieter time indoors.

I really enjoyed my salmon avocado toast & I have found my favourite vanilla latte.
The service was great & the vibes of the cafe (both inside & outside) was amazing.
I'll definitely come back.

I brought my two kids to Pigeon Cafe on Monkland on a Thursday morning. We were immediately greeted & seated. Our server, Ally, was great, especially with my two boys. Overall, great food, vibes & service!

Came to Pigeon café tonight with my friends & it was a really enjoyable. I loved the environnement, the staff was great & our night was really fun. Juan Camilo & Ally really went above & beyond for us & we really really appreciate it.

This is getting worse & worse. I used to order the Fattouche salad & it was great a few years ago. Yesterday I ordered the same salad & they're getting worse: the salad had no taste & they filled it up with totopos, with a lot of totopos. No taste, the dressing was not even there & the veggies combo are not worth the price. Pigeon cafe used to be good like 5 years ago. Now it is decadent café.
