Waiter started by rationing bread, he said the people at our table who ordered carb heavy meals didn't need to get bread. We looked at him weirdly & asked to get bread anyways. It took awhile but when he brought over the basket, we were one bread short for our table.
After we got our mains, the waiter put his hands on our food & moved one of our plates as we were eating. He asked us to change seats before we can even answer. He did this after he was shaking his head every-time he had to walk behind us in a cramped space that he chose to seat us in. We chose not to tip, & he ended up chasing us out of the restaurant & told us never to come back.
Aside from terrible service, the food was not great. The veal was boiled, & grey, there was 0 Maillard reaction. Pizza was soggy & undercooked. Milanese wasn't even breaded properly. They are charging premium price for food anyone can easily make at home if you have just a little bit of cooking knowledge. Please, for your own sake never dine here.
The environment is clean & very stylish, in a very good location, but unfortunately the prices of the food & the behavior of some of the waiters are not good at all.
The food portion is very small & sometimes the food gets cold & it takes a long time to bring you the food.
Considering the average quality of the food, the price is very high & the behavior of one or two of the waiters is very disrespectful.
You should be careful when paying insurance & bills, I might transfer any amount.
Beautiful restaurant. Great food. I found the lunch portions to be kind of small. I ordered the roast chicken breast & vegetable sides, it was delicious but not enough food on the plate. Italians like a full plate not half of one. I had to mention, compared to last year there is a huge difference in pricing which is fine but remember to not skimp..
Piazza Romana usually pretty Good when it's all with coordination communication. Tonight 08/29/2026 none of that had a reservation 7pm. I understand it was a busy Night but if you don't have coordination & no communication your as good as a ship treading water & sinking. Ordered the salmon for myself & lambchops w/spaghetti. Ordered minestrone & Caesar salad 45 minutes to get those to our table. 1 grand half for the main meal crappy service & hopefully doesn't happen again
Quite the most appaling service I have receved in a long time. Reservation for 7pm. Not sitted amongst the complete chaos until 730pm
Food ( main course only but excellent) didnt arrive until 9pm
Others arriving after us were served before us. I suspect we had been forgotten about in what I can only describe as Bedlam
Manager clearly didn't give a fart. Very pompous & arrogant. No sincerity in his apology whatsover.
It's very simple:
If you are as busy as that you either put on more staff to accommodate or restrict your bookings. They don't seem to have learned in the 55 years of the family running the business that the manager was very keen to point out to me...
Traveled back to my old childhood area, & always remember Romana's having the best pizza. Thick crust is gone & the pizza was greasy I felt like I needed to wipe it off
Things change, owners change...
Service was good, atmosphere was good.
Would I go back on my next trip, absolutely. It was part of my childhood.
There were 4 of us for dinner Saturday night. We had a reservation & were shown to our table as soon as we arrived. I started with the minestrone soup, a generous portion with lots of vegetables, followed by the lemon sole which was absolutely delicious. The lemon sole was $26.00 which is a very reasonable price. All of the other main dishes served were excellent. The service throughout was impeccable. In many Italian restaurants these days the noise level is such that it is very difficult to hear each other when speaking. At this restaurant we were able to converse with one another without having to shout. What a pleasure! We had a lovely evening & will certainly return.
