I went to Montreal for the first time & decided to try this Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered the pho with rare beef & meatballs. It was delicious! Very authentic taste for the pho! The venue was also very big with beautiful decor. They have two floors inside & & outdoor patio area.View more
Sooooo much beef & sooooo yummy, the soup is very delicious, must try!View more
Great food. We came here on our first night in Montreal. Their beef brisket stew & pho were just amazing. Will definitely come back!View more
Beautiful decor including a cherry blossom tree inside.. beautiful wood tables.. attentive waitstaff. One of the few places that will actually use basil garnish & give you raw beef slices, lime is fresh. Feel like all the foodstuff they use is good quality. Food is decent. I haven't yet found a perfect pho place in Montreal. (Speaking as a Vancouverite)View more
Excellent food & service. I Iove the raw beef noodle soup & Vietnamese coffee. Mets excellents. J'adore la soupe au boeuf cru & leur café vietnamien.View more
To preface this review, I went at a non-busy time in a group of 2. We had many issues with the service & food: 1. Ordered a rare beef pho & a rare beef & well done beef pho. Received a well done beef pho & a rare beef & well done beef pho. 2. They served the pho lukewarm! The rare meat didn't cook in the slightest!!!!!!! After asking to reheat the pho, they returned it THE SAME TEMPERATURE. 3. I requested fresh chilis from the staff 3 times throughout the meal & never received any. 4. Very minimal sauce included. They give tiny portions of sriracha/hoisin so you have to keep asking. It would be way better to have the bottles at the table like other authentic Vietnamese establishments. 5. Personal opinion - the pho broth was too sweet, missing some acidity. 6. Don't sit anywhere near the door in cold weather, they leave the outer door open sometimes so when the inner door is opened you'll be frozen. On the bright side, they have friendly staff & a great atmosphere (upstairs is super cool too).View more
The service & food excellent so fresh. Thank you again. I hate the Byov half beef & half shrimps. & Chà Giò.View more
We just had their pho & it was really good the broth was clear but flavorful & the beef was tender the noodles were cooked well & the fresh herbs added a nice touch we also had their fresh spring rolls which were light & tasty we tried the mango smoothie (100% you must try) & you can actually taste the real mango it wasn't too sweet just refreshing overall a solid meal & we'd come back againView more
Phở Lý Quốc Sư offers authentic Vietnamese flavors with standout phở & bánh mì. The phở features a rich, aromatic broth simmered for hours, with tender beef & fresh, springy noodles. A side of herbs, lime, & chili adds brightness & spice. The bánh mì is equally impressive, with a crispy, yet soft baguette filled with well-seasoned meats, pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro, & a hint of pâté & mayo for extra richness. Both dishes reflect traditional flavors & high-quality ingredients, making Phở Lý Quốc Sư a must-visit for Vietnamese food enthusiasts.View more
I came across Pho Ly Quoc Su in one of my walks. I had never had Vietnamese food before, but I was hungry & curious, & I'm so glad I entered this restaurant. I visited there twice & both times the staff were so incredibly polite (the most polite staff in MTL I would say). The food tasted absolutely amazing & reminded me of the food we have in Brazil (although different, shares some similarities). I became a fan. The two times I went there I had the lunch menu with soup & beef & white rice (unfortunately I don't remember the correct dish name) but it was so good & nutritive also. During trips we tend to not be able to eat so healthy, but in Pho Ly I truly felt like I was eating appropriately & at home. So so good. I totally recommend & plan to come back before the end of my stay in MTL.View more
It's ok pho. Broth was OK. It didn't have that Kapow that hooks you. Noodles were the flat wide ones... Not my particular favorite. Rare beef pho was $18. There was no choice of sizes & I thought it was on the medium to small size where the price would've normally warranted, a gigantic bowl. All in all, not bad, but not a knockout. Staff were nice, food came quick, interior was quite nice.View more
Ordered bun bo, it was not flavorful, despite having quite a bit of meat (mix of pork & beef). Service was very good. Spring rolls were good as well.View more
Pretty descent pho 🍜 place in downtown Montreal. We arrived at Montreal late & this is one of the few places that were open at the time. The staff was very friendly & spoke excellent English. We ordered vermicelli & spicy beef noodles. Both came pretty quickly after we ordered & we thought were excellent! The only thing that made me not giving a five star is there were no condiments (fish sauce & spicy sauce) at the table like you would expect. Overall pretty descent place.View more
Worthy of a 5-stars review. The staff has been cheerful & attentive throughout my lunch. The food was served very quickly & it has truly been delicious, not to mention the large portions. I ended up paying 36.36 CAD (taxes & tips included) for noodles with beef & veggies, plus some plain rice & a good Chinese beer. I shouldn't have ordered the rice, to be honest, because I wasn't able to finish the food anyway. Keep up the great work, you guys!View more
The beef wasnt very good. Overall a bit bland. The noodles werent great either.View more
Had an excellent meal & most helpful service from Nam. The beef on the Mi Xao Goin Bo (his suggestion) was delicious, & I liked the taste & texture of the crispy noodles. My colleague enjoyed her Bun BYO Vermicelli. We split a Cha Gio appetizer. Both of us were delighted & could not eat another bite. It's not a fancy place but we enjoyed the decorations & the window view. Overall a delightful experience & I would certainly come back to sample more of the menu. See menu in posted pics. Glad to find a decent Vietnamese restaurant downtown. My pho with rare beef was served with cooked beef. I wonder if there was a lack of synchronization between front & back of house. If it sits too long in the pass, the the thinly sliced beef cooks. The service was ok , but definitely needs work. As a lone diner, I do not need 2 waiters watching me eat, whether they were looking at me or behind me, they needed to be more discreet. & where were they when I was trying to get my bill to pay & leave? I am of average height, the booth side of the table is too high so one has to bend a little too much over to eat. The other diners around me were in the same predicament. The spa-like covers of popular songs was a bit loud with only 6 people in the restaurant & also set a weird atmosphere: is it a spa or a vibrant new restaurant? Also, English-speaking staff only? That's why I'm writing my review in English to make sure my review is understood. With these small adjustments, things should pick up.View more
I can't afford the best car, the best house, but I can still eat the best Vietnamese pho Soup is tasty with a lot of noodles, but it is not recommended to order beef stew pho, soup made with carrots, taste a bit over sweet.View more
Honestly the best pho i've ever had & one of the best meals I've ever had. The broth was so delicious & the veggies were fresh & crunchy which I love. Me & my friend have tried the following: Vegetarian imperial rolls (please note it comes with 2, not 3 like said in the description): absolutely delicious fresh, comes with a delicious sauce Vegetarian Pho: my friend said it was delicious! She loved the fried tofu. Well done beef Pho: broth was crazy good, the beef was delicious & tender (but the meat was very fatty, which might be the norm for this dish but i personally don't like fatty meat) Grilled chicken Pho: same delicious broth, the chicken was amazing & the veggies were fresh. This dish was so amazing & I will be coming back many times for it! The only downside was the service. We were only about 4 people in the restaurant & yet the waiter took forever to get us the bill & never came to check up on us. It could've been better but the food it so worth it that it doesn't matter. The food came out quick aswell! All in all, I will be returning very often - this might be one of my favourite restaurants!!!View more
It was Santa Claus parade on Saturday & the streets were packed with people everywhere in downtown Montreal. Pho Ly Quac Su just opened its doors just after noon time & we were the first few that got in. Already all the seats on the ground floor were taken. Luckily, there were lots of empty seating places on the first floor. The restaurant is reasonably clean & tidy. We ordered a BYOP - Build your own pho with rare beef & BYOV - Build your own vermicelli with grilled shrimps. Service was friendly & fast with the dishes of good size portion. Taste of the pho was at par with other pho restaurants we have been. It could have been hotter. The vermicelli came on a bed of iceberg lettuce & all fresh. The shrimps were grilled to perfection with a nice smoked flavour. Prices are reasonable, portions are good & taste is excellent.View more
The taste is not special compared to the price. The soup is just normal. I ordered rare beef for topping, but it came out cooked. It is said that it is cooked the moment it is served. If you're looking for a delicious pho restaurant, why not look elsewhere? Also, the meat quality was not good.View more
I really enjoyed this Pho. I highly recommend ordering with rare beef. The meat used here is AAA. Was also glad to meet the owner of the place, July. She is very welcoming & friendly. Good luck!View more
Great food. Amazing service! Very authentic & friendly. Felt like I was back in North Viet. Their raw beef Pho was fantastic. Good size.
The owner came to greet us. She was so nice & told us her story. She’s so proud of her restaurant & with good reason.
Come & try it out. Judge for yourself.View more
