Best moussaka since Greece. Thick layer of whipped potato & béchamel sauce. Lamb was tasty, Greek salads were fresh, souvlaki was tender. Our water glasses were never empty (& it was 24C out & we were thirsty).
The interior desperately needs updating, looks very 1980….
A HIDDEN GEM with Unforgettable Flavours & Service!!
We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Philinos on St. Jean, & it was a standout experience from start to finish. Our group of 34 family members was graciously accommodated right at 12 noon, & the staff went above & beyond to make us feel welcome & comfortable.
They respected our budget without compromising on quality or experience - a rare & much-appreciated balance! The service was impeccable: friendly, attentive, & genuinely warm throughout the meal.
To start, the Calamari & Greek salad were incredibly fresh & flavorful - the perfect light & zesty beginning. For the main course, we were offered a choice of three hot & hearty options, all served piping hot & delicious. Every dish was clearly crafted with care.
But the real showstopper? The Loukoumades. Golden, crispy on the outside, soft & warm inside, drizzled with honey - absolutely to die for.
Philinos has a way of making you feel like family while delivering top-tier cuisine. We'll be back - & bringing more friends next time!

Recently visited this restaurant just by pure chance, because, damn, were far away hungry I want to immediately note the service was great. It is obvious that the person has been working there for a very long time, & he knows what great service is.I am a small fan of Greek cuisine, but everything was delicious. Not just chic, but delicious Atmosphere If you like old authentic places, this is absolutely right for you. So, I can recommend this restaurant. 🙏 thank you
Philinos has a wonderful romantic atmosphere. They serve consistently great Greek food. I've been going there for years & the service has always been welcoming & reliable. So glad to have such a fantastic restaurant in the area !
Amazing.... I mean amazing authentic Greek food with everyone... I mean everything was cooked beautifully... Although Alittle on the more expensive side , you do get for what you paid for in term of quantity & quality. Recommend the plate of meats if your a meat lover.... Promise you won't be disappointed
Excellent service & authentic Greek food! Went with a large group for lunch & was pleasantly surprised with the high quality meal.. delicious lamb, Mediterranean seafood platter & cold appetizers.

Loved this restaurant, small with great atmosphere. Authentic greek food, they helped us order a gluten free meal as many dishes contain flour. Overall it was a good experience.
Had a wedding here a few days ago & everything was perfect the place is nice the waiters are 10/10 they'll always be on time waiting is not an option once you ask for something you can expect to get it in a few seconds. The food is one of the best Greek food I've ever tried, we had entrees of three different kinds of dips with slices of bread then some grilled octopus with calamari & fried cheese with some salade everything was good the salade was refreshing I loved the octopus wish I asked for more. The main dish we had a platter of sausage with lamb & pork with chicken all of it was great my least favourite was the sausage but the lamb was delicious with a side of potatoes the potatoes were good as well! Only bummer thing about this place is the parking which is obviously not their fault but depending on the time & day good luck finding parking.
We came to Philinos Restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night. It was busy so, we were lucky that we had a reservation. We ordered an assortment of appetizers & main dishes. Overall, the food was very good for an “old school” Greek restaurant. The atmosphere reflects that “classic” era but, it was very lively. The staff was very diligent even though there was a large party taking most of their attention.
Without a doubt, Philinos is the best Greek restaurant in Montreal. My wife who is Greek & a connaiseur of fine Greek food was overwhelmed with the delicious servings. If you are in Montreal this restuarant is not to be missed not only for it's meals but its friendly, courteous & professional service provided by Harry & Alexander. Thank you for a wonderful & memorable experience.
