Pleasant ambiance but expensive. The moussaka was forgettable (mushy, overpowered by the unnecessary tomato puree); the mussels in white sauce were ok but the fries were overcooked. Wine list is too way expensive. Not a repeat.View more
it was late night, we were hungry & looking for a restaurant near by. Seing the sign that says greek restaurant we decided to have a try, it is bring-your-own-wine type of place ( but since it was a last minute stop we didn't had any with us) First of all, the place is gorgeous, it was all that greek vibe interior. it was an hour before closing time so there weren't many people left. As for the prices in the menu, it wasn't the typical affordable greek place but its ok we thought it might be worth trying type of greek restaurant. our waiter was super friendly & all, he even tried to sell us their best selling dishes ( which were the most expensives one ranging from 30-60$) looking at their many options we chose a fish dish & pork chop dish. To be honest, I would've chosen another plate since my fish dish was just ok. Fresh yes but missing flavors ( to my taste, maybe for others they might like it better) my husband took a porkchop dish which the meat was tender & delicious... why only four star? once they served us with food, the waiters were busy cleaning, so we didnt get the service for the price we paid for. for a last minute drop by & having to pay a bill of $170 wasn't nice. ( tips & tax included) But i still recommend them since they have great food, & perfect for those lovely couples who wants a romantic date ;)View more
Last night my friend & I went back to Petros Lachine for the first time in over a year. The first time we walked in with a bottle of wine, thinking it was the same as the other Petros restaurants we had been to. But it wasn't, we were told we would not be able to drink our bottle, this Petros was not BYOB. Fair enough, we ordered a bottle & paid $60 for something we could have gotten at the SAQ for $20. Last night we walked in empty handed. Our waiter, Lipon, came to serve us promptly, he was courteous, knowledgeable & helpful throughout the evening, but no wine list & only an offer of water, flat or sparkling. Turns out they have now become a BYOB! Oh well, nothing wrong with a dry night every once in a while. We did point out to Lipon though that their website still says they are licensed. The food is still excellent: we had the Petros Special (zucchini chips with tzatziki), which was very good & very filling for two old guys. For mains we each had a fresh grilled fish, sea bass for me, & porgy for my friend. Also both excellent, & decent portions. The accompanying vegetables, rice & Greek potatoes were also done very well, which is something these restaurants often fall down on. This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but it is not outrageous either! One gets pretty good value for the money. The place is looking & feeling a bit rundown though, which one doesn't really expect at this price point.View more
We went last night (September 21st) to Petros in Lachine. It was our first time there. We were shocked when we arrived & saw the Bring Your Own Wine sign outside the restaurant. We had no idea that this location was a Bring Your Own Wine. Upon entering the restaurant, we were told that this policy came into effect 3 weeks ago. This should have been on the website. We did not have any wine with us, obviously, & there was no store in the area where we could have gone to buy some. We purchased a bottle upon the waiter's suggestion. It was $60 for the bottle which is price gauging at its finest. Taking advantage of a customer who was unaware of a Bring Your Own Wine policy is disgusting. I priced the bottle on the SAQ website & it was $22.35. Had it not been a special occasion, we would never have bought the wine, however, it was my retirement dinner & we wanted to celebrate. We ordered grilled chicken supreme which was overcooked. My husband's plate had one potato wedge & almost no rice. My plate had two potato wedges & minimal rice. Overall, the portion was very minimal for the price. We also ordered an appetizer of tzatziki which came with pita but, again, it was a very small portion for $12. The Greek salad was good but the Psilokomeni salad was bland with hardly any dill flavor. It came with feta which was not mentioned in the menu & I do not care for feta so I had to pick it off. Needless to say, we will not be going back any time soon.View more
Food was great & it's now a bring your own wine. Server kept answering me in French as I kept speaking English or else I'd give 5 stars.View more
Nice atmosphere but overall, way overpriced for no reasons. 16$ for regular wine glasses & 28$ for a calamari plate is a joke. Will never come back again.View more
The grilled shrimp were excellent but very expensive at $12.75 per shrimp. The salmon was overcooked & dry. The filet mignon brochette was very tough. The music was too loud. We were told it wasn't a bring-your-own-wine establishment yet the table next to us was allowed to have six bottles that they brought themselves. Will not return.
Had a large group of 25 people to celebrate a birthday milestone & we had a great time! We spoke with Luca who was extremely accommodating & helpful in the planning & ready to make our night the way we wanted ! He offered us their private reception room which was a perfect size to accommodate our party. Our guests loved the food, wine, & Luca included some extra details to make the night even more great. The servers were very patient with our large group. We were able to bring our own cakes, the servers cut & served our cake with pleasure. Thanks Luca & Petros Lachine team, we had a great time & will be recommending to our friends for future dinners & events!View more
The food was delicious, but pricey. Our server, Luca was professional & courteous. It was appreciated that he allowed us to sample a couple of wines to facilitate our decision & that he checked the glasses for any spots before pouring. It was disappointing that the mushrooms were not available or that I couldn't have the vegetables & potatoes, of my chicken platter, replaced by a salad (& willing to pay the difference, if any). Overall, the experience was wonderful & my company & I would return.
The service was top-notch.
The food & wine were delicious.
The room was very noisy & was not full. No noise absorbing features (curtains, carpets, dividers)
Jimmy served me at the Lachine location. Great service, he was nice & he offered me this great red wine. GREAT host! The only thing would be better if it was bring ur own wine like the other locations. The food was amazing, the samon was cooked well I was not to found of the Brussel sprouts mix with my dinner but overall good experience thanks Jimmy
Staff was friendly & very helpful. They went above & beyond to make sure we were having a good time at the restaurant. The food was great & very fresh & we enjoyed a great white wine suggested to us by the waiter. All in all, we had very memorable experience at Petros. We will be coming back with friends & family for sure! Thank you!
