Overall, reviews describe Paul Patates as a classic, comforting Quebec diner experience with poutine that many say is near perfect. Generous portions, good value, and quick, friendly service are repeatedly noted, along with a retro atmosphere, chrome stools, and even a house spruce beer that many consider a highlight. The poutine is praised for crispy fries, rich gravy, and fresh cheese curds, while the burgers and hot dogs are also well liked. Occasional comments mention slight cheese shortfalls, fries that can be less crispy, and hours that are sometimes limited, but the overall sentiment is that this spot delivers authentic, satisfying comfort food that many would return for.
What a gem! Come here for the atmosphere at least. You walk through the door & you are transported back in time. The service is super-friendly. Don't expect any frills, just straight forward casse croute food. The star turn here is that they brew their own spruce beer, so make sure you try that. Other than that, just pick a stool at the bar!
Un endroit comme je les vénèrent a Montréal, hors du temps où l'on vous sert un honnête & bon repas chaud pour un prix correct,& on repart lesté jusqu'au soir!!
A classic place to enjoy some real michigan hotdogs, hamburgers & french fries. & they taste just as good as they did 40 years ago. Definitely worth a visit whenever you're in the Pointe!
