I picked out a warm bbq pork bun, a green tea red bean bun, a honeydew coconut mochi, a matcha steam cake, & a red bean moon cake. Then the cashier told me if you get six items, you can save on tax, so I got another moon cake for a friend. I also ordered a coconut boba drink. I ate two of the buns & the steam cake for lunch & saved the rest for later. While the bakery doesn't have seating, it is down the street from an area with benches where we sat outside & enjoyed our food. Beware, the birds will be staring at you, waiting for you to drop something. Overall, a wonderful spot & I would go get more treats from this place!
There is a variety of fresh-baked pastries, cookies, & breads.
The cashier is very efficient & you can het what you want & get out quickly.
The bakery is also full of returning customers, & plenty of children go there with their parents.
You can never go wrong with a good ol' traditional Chinese bakery! This lovely little Chinatown spot features a wide selection of Chinese breads & pastries, all displayed in little self-serve cases. I dropped by around 6 PM, so I was expecting the selection to be pretty sparse &/or stale, but I was quite impressed by (1) the quality & freshness of the remaining bread, (2) the number of options still available, & (3) the number of people who managed to cram into this tiny space. The evening seems to be prime Chinese bakery hour, & it looked like folks were stocking up on desserts for the night &/or breakfast for the next morning. & I can't blame them - the buns all looked absolutely gorgeous. I ended up grabbing a green tea & red bean bun. The bread was super soft & moist, & it was the most beautiful forest green colour. I can't say that I could really taste the green tea, so I imagine most of it was just in the appearance. There was a good amount of red bean filling, & I appreciated that it was subtly sweet...all-around, it was the perfect late afternoon / early afternoon snack after a long day of exploring Montreal.
So yummy, so fresh, lovely scent of the baked goods. Lots of coconut options!! Love this bakery, everybody should try it out!
Great selection of baked goods, love their desserts, especially the coconut tarts & mochi…very tasty. The bakery is clean.
Super fresh Asian bakery! I was impressed by the quality. Even the regular pineapple bun tasted hearty & delicious. Mochi was okay. Peanut one tasted like peanut butter filling - which is tasty, just not authentic.
I was hoping for a great bakery but it's the typical Asian fare. Self serve goods that are average taste...
