Tried the classic poutine as this is one of the best places to get it. Loved the decor in the place which gives it real character.
As for the poutine, it s basically chips & gravy with cheese curds. Definately food after a few beers rather than a romantic table for two. I think there is no way you can get this wrong. There are other things on the menu but i d already eaten at schwatze s.
Overall defo give it a go.....

So good. Bacon cheeseburger & fries. Decent pricing ($15 for full meal). Hits the spot after a day of walking. Can't get in to get a smoked meat sandwich? Come here!
One of a hidden spot to get some real good poutine. Food came quickly & everything was made fresh. Staff were very friendly.
It was one of the best poutine I've ever tried.

Tried authentic poutine here, it's was good! Mozzarella was squeaky so you KNOW it was high quality. Sat in the window seat & had a nice view of the bustling downtown. Def recommend for some of that poutineeeee.
I understand that it's a tight space & you want people to move along but we received quite the attitude when taking quite literally 5 seconds to leave after ordering takeout

The lady & gentleman working were so sweet & accommodating. We wanted to try this place out but were hesitant since it's not super big/toddler friendly. But it wasn't busy & our toddler was able to sit well & look out the window! The cheeseburger & poutine were delicious. Definitely will return :)
We were at the market near by & stopped in to look at a menu. The server chatted us up & we stayed to eat specifically because we liked him! He should greet everyone! Guy is originally from California & super cool dude to chat with. Quique was his name!

A must try in Montreal. Often very busy.
Their prices are good & food delicious. Its got a nice vibe as well & good service. Only a few tables but turnover is quick so worth the wait. Takeout also great idea. Open late.
The food is delicious, simple, & so satisfying every single time.
The place is unpretentious & perfect when you're craving something comforting that just hits the spot. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or sitting down for a relaxed meal, it never disappoints.
