Worth the wait. Need to be patient for the food too!
But very very very good.
Literally one of the best pastas I've ever had. The quality of the ingredients is insane, & you can genuinely feel that everything is made with so much love & passion. The vibes, the service, the wine selection… everything was just perfect.
I'm still thinking about my pasta this morning haha Honestly, add this place to your to-do list. You need to go 🫶🏻✨
They have arguably the ugliest sign on this side of the mount but dont let that dissuade you from a late night tiramisu
Pasta Pooks was highly recommended by a coworker, we were not disappointed.
I took my friend for an early birthday lunch. The food was delicious. The service was super fast & friendly.
The pasta is being made fresh just behind the counter. The buttery sauce on the tortellini was to die for…so creamy & buttery.
We will definitely eat here again (many times!) as we want to try everything on the menu.
Food was amazing!!!! Pasta was absolutely to die for! My only complaint is that the plates are a little small! If you're hungry you need to order 2 plates. I'm definitely going back!
** how about adding a larger portion option for extra $ more? **
The customer service was absolutely non existent. Not a customer centric place at all. They are very disorganized & do not multi task well even when it's very quiet with very few people. We patiently waited for over an hour to be seated only to be ignored & forgotten. We had to keep reminding them that we are ready to order which offended them because they were setting other tables instead of taking the order of people who have waited for 75 minutes. They were apathetic & even rude.
Went to their little dine-in section on the side of the restaurant. There's a limited menu but still quite good. I believe they change the menu every so often, but you can't really ask for modifications. The spinach ricotta ravioli was good & buttery. The bolognese poutine wasn't the best meal as it was not saucey at all, it felt quite dry. The gnocchi ragu was soo good. Literally melted in your mouth & was filling. I would go back to try more pasta in their main dinning area.
Stopped by Pasta Pooks for lunch & overall had a good meal, though it did not quite hit exceptional status.
We started with the Piatto di Antipasti Misto, which came with sliced charcuterie, fresh mozzarella, & fried dough pieces. The quality of the cured meats was solid, & the fried bread was a fun touch, though the portion felt a bit modest for 26 CAD.
For mains, we tried the Spaghettoni alla Gricia & the Gnocchi al ragù Napoletano. The spaghettoni had nice, thick crispy pieces of guanciale, though the sauce itself was a little heavy on the salt. The gnocchi was soft & paired well with the rich meat sauce, making it the stronger pasta dish of the two.
We finished with dessert, ordering a slice of lemon meringue pie & a chilled berry dish. The lemon pie had a bright citrus flavor & light meringue, which balanced out the heavier pasta courses nicely.
Service was friendly & the menu offers a nice variety, but given the price point, a few elements fell just short of outstanding. Worth a visit if you are in the mood for classic Italian plates, but keep expectations ground.
