Review Summary

Pasta Pooks is widely celebrated for its exceptional, high-quality handmade pasta and creative seasonal menu, with many patrons describing the experience as some of the best Italian dining in Montreal. While the food, including standout dishes like the spinach and ricotta ravioli, gnocchi, and the Philly cheesesteak, receives glowing praise for its flavor and authenticity, the restaurant is polarizing regarding its value proposition. Many guests find the portion sizes to be quite small relative to the price, leading to mixed feelings about the overall cost. The atmosphere is frequently noted as vibrant and cozy, though the limited seating, occasional noise, and crowded conditions can make the space feel cramped or uncomfortable. Although service is often described as friendly, passionate, and professional, there are inconsistent reports regarding wait times, takeout procedures, and occasional lapses in hospitality, leaving some visitors feeling the hype outweighs the actual experience.

I mean we didn't have reservation so we sat at the place where everyone's order to go which is ok but since a lot of people was in & out of the place it gets cold while you are eating. But it's totally worth it because the food is amazing, the sausage & the bread as an entry are great, the pasta is amazing so good that I'm wanna go back for sure but the very very best is the tiramisu at the end wow the best one in Montreal & trust I had try so many already 😋. Next time we will reserve so we can enjoy more on the resto side

The pasta was delicious & fresh. However, it wasn't filling at all for what we paid. We had to go buy a meal elsewhere afterwards.

We've been to'fine dining' many times in the past, however the food was not at the level to justify the cost & lack of food.

Hit & miss but overall doesn't live up to the hype. We had 2 antipasti: veal tongue was great BUT stracciatella +'seasonal veggies'(2 small spoonfuls of stracciatella, a sad log of undercooked leek & 2 pickled garlic) was an absolute joke for 20$. Seriously, shame on whoever thought about putting that on the menu.
Butternut squash ravioli was excellent but definitely overpriced for the portion size (25$ for 6 ravioli if I remember correctly). Ragu was good but nothing to write home about, & also expensive for the small serving.
Decent but won't be returning.
