Review Summary

Parma Café is described as a cozy, welcoming spot in Jean Talon Market with plenty of room, a calm vibe, and friendly staff, making it suitable for studying or a casual meal. The coffee is consistently praised for being bold and well made, and the service is often noted as fast and courteous. The food earns high marks too, with many raving about the paninis, the mortadella and pesto, the eggplant parm, caprese salad, and other Italian offerings, plus desserts like Nutella cookies. The atmosphere is repeatedly called charming and cozy, with an open kitchen adding to the experience. While value is generally seen as good and portions generous, a few reviews mention slower service during busy times or occasional inconsistency in sandwich quality. Overall Parma Café comes across as a dependable go-to for strong coffee, tasty sandwiches, and a friendly, comfortable environment in the market area.

I paid almost $20 (with tax) for a chicken panini at Parma Café Jean talon & honestly, it was not worth it. The taste was very average - nothing special, & definitely not worth that price. I also left a $2 tip, but the person taking the order didn't seem pleased, maybe my tip was too small. That made the experience even more disappointing.

For $20, there are definitely much better options in town. I had higher expectations, but this place did not deliver. Looks impressive, but doesn't deliver.
Sorry. But I won't be visiting again.

It's an ok panini...not bad but nothing to go back for. Parma is indeed expensive, 1 panini & a chicken salad+ bottle of water for 46$....not worth it in my opinion, it's one of those places where u try it but probably never go back.

Finally made it to Parma after hearing all the hype, & tasting is believing! These are some of the most delicious sandwiches (paninis) I've ever had in all my travels. Beyond the generous portions (you could definitely share a sandwich & a fry for 2 people), the ingredients are fresh & combined into wonderful creations that melt in your mouth & make you want more & more even after you're full. I ordered the chicken cutlet which was excellent, particularly the light breading on the chicken itself which was fried & seasoned to perfection, I could eat just the chicken itself all day long. But the Eggplant Parm really stole the show. The lightly fried eggplant with a savoury tomato sauce & absolutely killer pesto was a mouth watering experience. Do not miss this panino! & for $5 more you can get a huge portion of some of the best fries served with truffle mayo & a drink of choice. Excellent value, & to top it off, a super friendly staff & nice atmosphere. Highly recommend Parma Cafe, will definitely be back.
