Working in Montreal for the week & it's dinner time! I did my usual Yelp'ing & landed on Pamika Thai! Here's how it went!
Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the street in downtown is this gem. It's got a small footprint on the outside, but inside is a different story! It's so beautiful & intimate in here. The floors & the ceilings are darker colors giving a more intimate vibe. The decor is AMAZING & transports you to an entirely different country. The vibes were very intimate, romantic & definitely a place you want to be.
Service: Glenn was my bartender as I sat at the bar & he was awesome. He was funny, witty & made sure I had the best time possible. I also would like to shout out Benjamin as well. He's the director of the restaurant & also made sure I had a good time.
Food/Drinks: I started off with the Le Vieux Cajou, which is Buffalo Trace whiskey infused with cashews, spicy coriander syrup then a few dashes of both Angostura & chocolate bitter. This drink sounds so out there, but it was so smooth, oaky, a bit nutty, mildly sweet, very tasty, robust, woody. I really liked it. I saw so many things on the menu that I wanted to try that I couldn't make up my mind so I opted for the tasting menu! Here's how it went! Out first was the Fried papaya salad which consists of deep-fried green papaya & carrots, fried shrimp, fresh chilies, tomatoes, long beans & peanuts. This was very tasty with that good spicy sauce on top. I loved the sweetness with the salt & the heaviness of the fried batter. Absolutely delicious. Never had anything like it before. My only complaint is that the shrimp didn't pull all the way out of their shells like I'm used to. Lol. Next up was the Khao Soi which is a dish comprised of egg noodles, chicken drumsticks, a quail egg, pickled choy, limes, coriander, red onions & khao soy sauce. This dish was a bit spicy, with flavors just all over the place in a great way. LOVED the rich curry flavor, super aromatic. Lastly was the Set Tum Thai which is That BBQ pork shoulder served with sticky rice & a papaya salad. It was SUPER flavorful pork & an amazing spicy sauce. Rice was nice & sticky to calm the flavors down. Well-balanced.
Value: It's more upscale &'modern' Thai cuisine so you have to pay for it. Lol. All prices are in $CAD. My first drink was $14.00. The tasting menu was $85.00. Absolutely worth it.
In conclusion, I loved this place, what it represented & how everything was executed. I highly encourage you to check this place out! Thank you for reading.

Unfortunantly it didnt quite scratch the itch we were hoping for but also wasnt too bad overall. In general I think they need two more servers to keep up with demand. The servers seemed busy but it took a while for every step of the way so I think they could use a bit more help. The other thing that was a bit unfortunant was the amount of fruit flies that were around. One or two isnt an issue but we were having to swipe away one pretty consistantly.
That being said, the food itself was pretty decent overall. Ill go over the so-so stuff first. We were trying to get the vegiterian papaya salad but apparently there is fish sauce in it that cant be removed so I am not sure why they label it as vegiterian optional. (Thats a bit of a pet peeve of mine since people probably dont even ask if it is labeled as vegiterian). The phad thai was decent with strechy noodles & fried tofu which is something we look for but the peanuts were all clumpped together as if they had been stored for a while. Not nessasarily a bad thing but califlour was also one of the vegtables which is an interesting choice.
On the good end, the bak egg roles were crisp & had good flavores especially when adding the sauce. They gave us the chicken one on accident at first but figured out their mistake before we had any. The drink was also very refreshing. The egg wash was smooth & sweet which complimented the tart & fruity drink.
The atmosphere itself was interesting. The long marbel X shaped table that centered the room was something I hadnt seen anywhere else. It seemed a bit akward at first but the lights & bar made it work more. The lamps seemed like a nice touch that added depth & a warm lighting to the room. I always like when lights are hung together at a different hights to give that depth.
My friend & I dined at Pamika Thai for dinner & decided to go with the Chef's Choice, meaning we'd eat whatever was placed in front of us. At first, things went really well - the appetizers were tasty & the salads were amazing.
Unfortunately, once the restaurant got busy, we felt a bit ignored. The server barely came by, even though we were trying to get their attention. Our first appetizer arrived at 7:00, but we waited about 1 hour & 20 minutes before our entrées finally came out.
The entrées themselves were disappointing. The seafood curry had just 2 prawns & 4 mussels for two people, & the wagyu fried rice was so tough that we were chewing for minutes. For the wait & the hype, it simply wasn't worth it.
The environment & atmosphere were great, but overall the food quality & service didn't live up to expectations. I came in with high hopes, but sadly left underwhelmed.
Good food, but it's really slow service due to the lack of staff. We went for tuesday night around 6 pm, ordered just only seafood salad & curry. It took like 45min for only 2 meals.
Great for meals to share over date night. The scallop coconut curry is still by far my favorite thing on the menu, but the papaya salad is also exceptionally delicious. Great drinks, great music, great atmosphere.
Thai cuisine has always been one of my favorites, & Pamika has definitely satisfied my expectations. The level of spice in their noodles, soups, or salads is just on point. The waiters are also very attentive, the resto has a nice ambience overall. Will definitely return!

Papaya salad was exquisite...seafood on red curry...delicious....forgot to take pictures but it's very good price-quality ratio....I would définit-elle dine there again
What a great experience! Went to pamika for dinner with a group of friends & we really enjoyed our evening. We started with drinks, I ordered the'meditation' which came presented on a little stand with a dramatic effect & tasted very fresh & fruity.
For appetizers we ordered the papaya salad which was delicious & the sugar cane shrimp which has a very special sweet & savory taste. I highly recommend these two dishes!
We also had the pad thai which we loved!
The service in this restaurant is excellent, the waiters are very attentive & take the time to explain each dish when presented on the table.
I highly recommend this place!
Nice looking place & the staff are very attentive (maybe too attentive at times). The food was just okay for the price, could have had more depth of flavour (green curry). The beef in the beef salad was barely chewable, unfortunately. The vibe of the restaurant is beautiful & they seem to accommodate big groups.
Honestly, one of the biggest rip off in Montreal. Incredibly expensive for sub-par quality at best. I went for Montreal à table, & the 80$ fixed menu felt like a scam. The quality of the food was poor, curry was not well done. Tried to upsell us every time they could. Tartares were delicious. Salads were well executed. Service was absolutely awful. Took over 30 minutes to even get acknowledged by the service staff. One of our servers was really nice, I wish I remembered his name, but he's the only reason why I am not giving 1 star to this restaurant. I do not recommend.

The service is good, the restaurant is nicely decorated but the food is very mid. We ordered the tasting menu at $75 (got overcharged by a couple of dollars at the end when we checked our receipt but I digress) & were disappointed with the selection. The minced duck with cabbage leaf was underwhelming, as were the fried shrimp & fried pork on sugar canes. The grilled pork slices with sticky rice & papaya salad were bland & nothing extraordinary. The braised paneang beef & fried shrimp & fried papaya salad were enjoyable. I probably should have chosen à la carte instead of tasting menu but if this is what they are offering clients to explore & discover Thai cuisine, it is disappointing. Furthermore, we had leftovers that we got packaged up. We saw the waitress leave it on the waiters counter & walk away, only for another waiter to pile other dirty plates on top of our remaining food. The waitress came back, saw what happened & we witnessed a little back & forth exchange before they took off the top plates & willingly decided to place our now contaminated food in takeaway containers anyway. We were too appalled to say anything so we paid & left.

Beautiful design & warm atmosphere with effective service. The food is a bit bland for Thai cuisine, but highly instagrammable, which I guess is the main selling point for the place. The crispy shrimp & the seafood salad could not elicit any flavour, but the pork lemongrass was ok. We ordered the Pad Krad Prao with fried rice, but we ended up with white rice instead, which made the dish less interesting than expected. Value for money was good & portions were generous. So we left a bit disappointed but we can understand how this restaurant can appeal to a younger crowd or to tourists.
Me & my partner had the pleasure to be served by the director of the restaurant. We ordered 1 drink each & the tasting menu(called something else). The starting bites were delicious, the duck entree was a miss for the both of us, barely rescued by us asking for the dipping sauce of the first course. The red curry beef was incredibly good with a rich & creamy sauce, spiced just right Then there was a shrimp with fried & crispy strings of some starch that were absolutely lovely. To continue, we had grilled beef cooked in a lovely marinade with a papaya salad & sticky rice. Finally the dessert was rather plain macarons with a pretty image. I had a pint of beer, & my partner who had 2.5 ounces of wine paid 1 dollar less than me. It felt too little. Overall we enjoyed our experience; the service was stellar although the food came a little too fast, the atmosphere was welcoming & beautiful. It's a little expensive for what it is, but if you can afford it you'll enjoy it
