Working in Montreal for the week & it's dinner time! I did my usual Yelp'ing & landed on Pamika Thai! Here's how it went!
Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the street in downtown is this gem. It's got a small footprint on the outside, but inside is a different story! It's so beautiful & intimate in here. The floors & the ceilings are darker colors giving a more intimate vibe. The decor is AMAZING & transports you to an entirely different country. The vibes were very intimate, romantic & definitely a place you want to be.
Service: Glenn was my bartender as I sat at the bar & he was awesome. He was funny, witty & made sure I had the best time possible. I also would like to shout out Benjamin as well. He's the director of the restaurant & also made sure I had a good time.
Food/Drinks: I started off with the Le Vieux Cajou, which is Buffalo Trace whiskey infused with cashews, spicy coriander syrup then a few dashes of both Angostura & chocolate bitter. This drink sounds so out there, but it was so smooth, oaky, a bit nutty, mildly sweet, very tasty, robust, woody. I really liked it. I saw so many things on the menu that I wanted to try that I couldn't make up my mind so I opted for the tasting menu! Here's how it went! Out first was the Fried papaya salad which consists of deep-fried green papaya & carrots, fried shrimp, fresh chilies, tomatoes, long beans & peanuts. This was very tasty with that good spicy sauce on top. I loved the sweetness with the salt & the heaviness of the fried batter. Absolutely delicious. Never had anything like it before. My only complaint is that the shrimp didn't pull all the way out of their shells like I'm used to. Lol. Next up was the Khao Soi which is a dish comprised of egg noodles, chicken drumsticks, a quail egg, pickled choy, limes, coriander, red onions & khao soy sauce. This dish was a bit spicy, with flavors just all over the place in a great way. LOVED the rich curry flavor, super aromatic. Lastly was the Set Tum Thai which is That BBQ pork shoulder served with sticky rice & a papaya salad. It was SUPER flavorful pork & an amazing spicy sauce. Rice was nice & sticky to calm the flavors down. Well-balanced.
Value: It's more upscale &'modern' Thai cuisine so you have to pay for it. Lol. All prices are in $CAD. My first drink was $14.00. The tasting menu was $85.00. Absolutely worth it.
In conclusion, I loved this place, what it represented & how everything was executed. I highly encourage you to check this place out! Thank you for reading.
Went for dinner with reservations. Food was absolutely delicious!! Flavours are spot on ! & the cocktails are amazing. Presentation is excellent. The restaurant is dark & cozy . Staff are friendly. The slow cooked braised beef curry is seriously good!!! Will definitely go back

My friend & I dined at Pamika Thai for dinner & decided to go with the Chef's Choice, meaning we'd eat whatever was placed in front of us. At first, things went really well - the appetizers were tasty & the salads were amazing.
Unfortunately, once the restaurant got busy, we felt a bit ignored. The server barely came by, even though we were trying to get their attention. Our first appetizer arrived at 7:00, but we waited about 1 hour & 20 minutes before our entrées finally came out.
The entrées themselves were disappointing. The seafood curry had just 2 prawns & 4 mussels for two people, & the wagyu fried rice was so tough that we were chewing for minutes. For the wait & the hype, it simply wasn't worth it.
The environment & atmosphere were great, but overall the food quality & service didn't live up to expectations. I came in with high hopes, but sadly left underwhelmed.
Went to Pamika again on my short visit to Montreal! Amazing food, tasty cocktails, & excellent service! The seafood curry is to die for! Highly recommend!!
Le pad thaï & le repas légumes aux crevettes ont été très décevants. Légumes trop cuits qui flottaient dans un bouillon , dommage car nous avions aimé leur curry précédemment.
Incredible experience - the director Benjamin took the time to answer questions & give great recommendations. The food was top notch. We tried a few different dishes & they were all great. The beef curry, chicken cashew, pad thai, chicken satay, pad kra pao were super enjoyable. Also the mango sticky rice is an absolute must - it was the highlight of the meal.

Good food, but it's really slow service due to the lack of staff. We went for tuesday night around 6 pm, ordered just only seafood salad & curry. It took like 45min for only 2 meals.
Great for meals to share over date night. The scallop coconut curry is still by far my favorite thing on the menu, but the papaya salad is also exceptionally delicious. Great drinks, great music, great atmosphere.
We had a party of 4 reserved at 8:45pm. Upon arrival we were told another party had overstayed so there'd be a delay with seating. By the time we were seated it was about 9:10pm. I'm not sure why the other party wasn't asked to leave…. I saw they had finished eating when we arrived & were just socializing. Appetizers were good; we had the BBK rolls & lemongrass pork. Unfortunately after that, service was painfully slow. We waited at least 30 additional minutes for the mains. To make matters worse, when the meals finally arrived, they were bland. My dish (green curry) had 2 chili peppers marked as the spice level on the menu. There was 0 heat to the dish. It mostly tasted of coconut milk. Chili flakes were provided to us on the table, but why? The spices should be cooked into the food already. The flavor isn't the same adding it in yourself afterwards. Overall, the combination of sluggish service & mediocre food left us frustrated & unsatisfied.
Papaya salad was exquisite...seafood on red curry...delicious....forgot to take pictures but it's very good price-quality ratio....I would définit-elle dine there again

Nice looking place & the staff are very attentive (maybe too attentive at times). The food was just okay for the price, could have had more depth of flavour (green curry). The beef in the beef salad was barely chewable, unfortunately. The vibe of the restaurant is beautiful & they seem to accommodate big groups.
Food was just okay. Ordered crispy shrimp, Tom yum soup, Tom yum pad Thai, green curry. Shrimp was a cool idea, but felt like the egg noodle was more a gimmick cuz it didn't add much. Sauces weren't thick or rich enough in the pad Thai & curry. Lobster in the pad thai seemed pre-cooked frozen, definitely not fresh. Overall food tasted pretty muted. Place is beautiful though & service was great. Didn't see any East Asian servers, they were all in the kitchen, classic discrimination.
It was my first time visiting the restaurant in Montreal & it didn't quite meet expectations. The meal started strong with the fried shrimp & chicken skewers which were both delicious. For entrees I had the chicken pad see ew which was quite disappointing since they used normal rice noodle as opposed to wide thai noodle, some of the vegetables were undercooked, & they used a lot of soya sauce. I also had the braised beef panaeng...the curry sauce was delicious but the brisket was very dry & overcooked. Don't think I will return to the restaurant next time, considering there are many other authentic thai restaurants for half the price. But, if you're looking for a quick dinner/drink with great service & atmosphere then this would be a safe place to go.
Honestly, one of the biggest rip off in Montreal. Incredibly expensive for sub-par quality at best. I went for Montreal à table, & the 80$ fixed menu felt like a scam. The quality of the food was poor, curry was not well done. Tried to upsell us every time they could. Tartares were delicious. Salads were well executed. Service was absolutely awful. Took over 30 minutes to even get acknowledged by the service staff. One of our servers was really nice, I wish I remembered his name, but he's the only reason why I am not giving 1 star to this restaurant. I do not recommend.
I had a fantastic time here! I would have loved to sample more things off the menu but I came alone, so I just stuck with the green curry (which was great with the sticky rice). The staff were attentive & I had a great time sitting st the bar!
We came here on a busy weekend night & the vibes were immaculate. Great location & very clean restaurant & kitchen, we enjoyed our time here so much. We sat at the bar & Egan made our time unforgettable because he provided some of the best service we have ever received. After only a week of working there, he made everything look so easy. He was so busy sitting tables, taking orders, & carefully taking time to talk to us while explaining the menu & what makes all the dishes so magical there, all while effortlessly crafting drinks for the entire restaurant. Pictured are the Massaman curry & crab fried rice, both of which are delicious, but not pictured is the Taro pudding we had the honor of enjoying. Easily one of the best desserts I've ever had. Thank you again Egan for making our time in Montreal so unforgettable!
