Palais d'Ajit is by far the best Indian restaurant in Verdun/Southwest Montreal. The food is always delicious & is reasonably priced compared to other Indian restaurants. It's a better place for delivery or pick up than to eat at in person though. The two times I've been in person it was super cold (AC on in winter...) & there is no ambiance to speak of - no music, plain decor (if any - can't recall). But the food is great, as evidenced by how packed the restaurant is all the time.

We ordered delivery, they did not take credit card, the plates were really small & all the food was spicy, we could not eat it & we we called them they said: our food is not spicy, sorry. Terrible place.

Service was absolute perfection. We were greatedoing & invited in by the ower & chef while reading the menu on the window.

Food was delicious & plentiful. Special wow was when the server came to ask us if the level of 'spicey'was okay while we enjoyed oue appetizer & when we confirmed she went to the kitchen to ensure our main course would be the same & it was.
Don't be fooled by the 'look' of the place, great & we will be back!

Was very impressed by the quality of food served here. Who knew you could find good Indian food like this in Verdun? I've usually trekked all the way to Jean-Talon for this quality, but I will no longer! Very, very happy with their food & prices! :)

Delicious food, friendly service, reasonable prices & portions, what's not to love? Also, it's the only place in Verdun that sells dosa, which is a big plus in my book. We've been twice & everything has been wonderful. Lamb & chicken are tender & juicy, the samosas are stuffed to bursting, the rice is fluffy, the raita & mango chutney are the perfect accompaniment to many of the dishes & the mango kulfi dessert is the perfect way to end your meal.

Everything on the menu is mild to moderate (at least in my opinion) in terms of heat & spice; even dishes such as the jalfrezi & vindaloo, which should be very spicy, are only moderately so. I guess (like so many other restaurants) they've had too many customers tell them to "make it spicy" only to then complain that it was too hot, so they've had to keep everything in the mild to moderate range. Having said that, if you ask for your food to be very spicy, they'll be more than happy to kick up the flavor & the heat of whatever dish you've ordered.

Best in the Verdun / Sud Ouest area by far.

Lots of space, good for groups & very reasonably priced.
