My last restaurant visit on my roadtrip to Montreal after a floor New York. I had the seared Taylor seared tuna & it was great. I had a Japanese soda with floating balls. They didn't have takoyaki but a side salad with squid. The atmosphere was great & the ladies who served me were fantastic. It was better than the Japanese places in Pensacola. I don't know when I'll be back in Montreal but I'll try to head there again.

My daughter & I had a great time the first time we were here so we returned, but this time it was awful. Soggy fried squid, burnt rice, drinks that came ages after the food, a glass of wine floundering around the 4oz mark, us wearing our jackets for the cold... Contrary to my personality I actually spoke up only to be dismissed completely. We won't return.

Had always heard about this place but never really made it there until last weekend for a friend's birthday. The sets are good. But I honestly feel that customize the set is the way forward for multiple reasons Highlights of the night Chawanmushi- lovely custard in a dashi On point & delicious. Karrage- weird Crispy chicken was accompanied with some sweet potato fritters, why ? No idea. The octopus taco , mind blowing in every sense, the Wasabi blows your senses out. The bao was decent , nothing too crazy. The combo platters were delightful. A pretty good selection of sale we had almost.1/2 of the available selection No negatives but I would love this part Sapporo & Asahi is lovely. But asia has great beers , look at them & incorporate them in your menu. Having a overhead lamp to keep the food warm won't hurt , since the concept of the restaurant is all about sharing. All that being said , lovely place & food was awesome.

What a fun little place with some tasty bites & good selection of drinks. The perfect place for students to hangout & have some silly time on a weekend. The custard pudding was the best thing EVER (& it's made in-house)

Really enjoyed this place the first time I visited. Came back about a year later (present day 2024) & I felt like the food didn't hit the same. Most of our skewers were quite bland & under seasoned, served just lukewarm & not hot. Our favourite bite we had were the smelts, where they were charred to a good level & had good flavors. Most of our skewers were low on the char level- I'm not sure if they grill it long enough? We also ordered the truffle karaage, which was also nothing much to write about. We went on a Friday night so I don't imagine it just being an "off" day for the kitchen. Not sure if I would give this place another chance in the future. I do appreciate the late hours of the Izakaya though. Service was okay, the lighting is a little dark & it gets quite loud. Washroom was passable. It's a single tiny stall.

I was looking forward to eating here after seeing it recommended on The Mains instagram post. The food was pretty bland overall. We got the Otto set, tori soup, saba zuke, bibimbap & grilled vegetables. We ended up over seasoning everything with the spice mix that was on the table. Service & atmosphere were great but the food was just not good at all.

Went to every single izakaya in the area, like Tempura Kyoudai & Biru Biru. This place blows them all out of the water. Skewers are reasonably priced, they know how to make a good chuhai (though I would ask for extra shochu on the side). Service is good, atmosphere is good. Reminds me of actual izakayas that I frequented in Japan. Kitchen closes at 1130 & last drink is at 1230.

The brussel sprouts were great but other than that, the rest of the dishes were just...fine? The chicken in the negina was very juicy but 2 of my usual favourites (pork belly & kalbi) were quite dry. The service was particularly disappointing... They were friendly once we finally got their attention, but they didn't ask to take our order until we waved them down & never checked on us to ask how the meal was, refill water, take dishes, or ask if we wanted to order anything else.

Izakaya with great atmosphere. Great cocktails & skewers. The truffle dishes & cocktails are a bit gimmicky & I don't see the point of adding truffle to them. The skewers we got were also slightly cold. Overall still a great place to chill with friends late at night.

We went there on a Saturday night. Very nice place & atmosphere. The music was good & all. We loved the food & there was a good selections of drink. Why I put 2 stars for.the service is that we constantly had to ask for water refill, the service personne was bringing food on the table without picking up the old empty plates so we ended up having a table full of empty dishes. She brought a sake bottle on the table & did not even do anything to open the bottle, left it there for us to do. Plus when she brought in the cup for the Sake, she brought them with all of her fingers inside the cup 🍶. That's a big no-no.

Nous y sommes aller pour la première fois & ce ne sera certainement pas la dernière. Le service était impeccable, les serveuses ( dont la propriétaire ) étaient souriante , chaleureuse. On avais l'impression de les connaître depuis des années tellement elles étaient gentilles !! La nourriture était délicieuse, les cocktails bien arrosée, nous avons eu la chance de prendre un shooter avec CoCo la propriétaire. Sérieux nous recommandons x milles , nous avons appeler pour prendre une réservation 30 minutes avant . Le restaurant a été pleins tout le long .. Une belle place à découvri

Ordered saba teishoku for lunch. Everything was great but it could've been perfect. Server didn't ask & took my dokuri cup after paying the bill. I had little bit of Dassai left but it was no longer gone so I left😂
