Arrived in Montréal, looking for a nice place to eat. Happened upon Osteria Schiavio in the Marriot hotel. What a gem. We sat at the bar & ordered pizza to go. So delicious. The draft beer was very good. When the pizza arrived, the aroma was out of the world, couldn't wait to get back to the hotel! Sheldon at the bar was entertaining. He was busy making different cocktails but had time to tell explain the ingredients. Heading back for a sit down dinner!

A true hidden gem that delivers on every level-flavour, service, & atmosphere. Tucked slightly off the main path, this spot is well worth seeking out.

Service was standout: Sheldon managed the room seamlessly as a one-man host, bartender, & server, all while remaining attentive & welcoming. The food arrived at a comfortable pace & exceeded expectations. The penne featured a vibrant basil flavour with a perfectly crisp, gratinéed cheese topping. The meat lasagna was exceptional-rich, well-balanced, & cooked al dente (easily one of the best we've had). Even the burger, though slightly small, was prepared exactly to preference, & the fries were outstanding.

The space is stylish yet relaxed, with thoughtful details like linen tablecloths & a cohesive, modern aesthetic. Pricing is very reasonable for a downtown location near Old Montreal.

A small note for improvement: the washroom setup could be refined, as it felt a bit cramped & was missing soap during our visit.

Overall, an easy recommendation for anyone looking for high-quality food & genuine service in a comfortable, unpretentious setting.

Found this gem doing a google search looking for Italian food downtown. We were looking for early dinner as many restaurants not open till 5pm

We were not sure on arrival as restaurant is in an office building but it looked nice, clean & welcoming.

Food was amazing with ceasar salad, caprese salad, two pasta dinners & dessert.

Everything tasted homemade & service was great.

Put this one down on your list for great Italian in Montreal!

Schiavio is hands-down one of the best spots around-super drinks, super food, & absolutely super service! The atmosphere is vibrant & the quality of everything on the menu is top-notch. What truly sets this place apart, though, is Christian. He's not just an amazing bartender-he's the heart of Schiavio. His energy, creativity, & genuine warmth bring the whole place to life.

It's also the perfect place for a 5@7 after work-great music, refreshing cocktails, & a lively crowd to help you unwind & celebrate the day. Don't miss out on this gem-you'll want to come back again & again!
