Absolutely exceptional. Every dish technically brilliant & tasted out of this world. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Can't wait to come back. Service very thoughtful & smooth, too! Must-go

We went on a Saturday night for a birthday & the place was exceptional.

Service is stellar, everyone cared beautifully for every single detail which made us enjoy a complete worry-free evening. Every waiter/waitress was respectful, smiling, & kind to us.

We were 4 & ordered about 11 dishes in total. Each dish was balanced in textures & flavors. It's rare, even in the best restaurants, to enjoy everything to a dot, & yet, all four of us had nothing bad to say about Berto.

People mentioning the small portions aren't wrong per say, but with appetizers, main dish & dessert, we were full & satisfied.

Une superbe soirée au Berto ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec un service attentionné & soigné. Un grand merci à la sommelière, qui a su être à l'écoute de nos goûts pour une belle decouverte.

En cuisine, des plats savoureux, des produits de qualité & une belle exécution. Véritable coup de coeur pour les pâtes fraîches, qui étaient tout simplement exceptionnelles.

Si vous cherchez une excellente table italienne à Montréal, je vous recommande vivement de vivre l'expérience du Berto. Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir !

Berto feels somewhat out of sync with its location. Villeray is a welcoming, family-oriented, community-driven neighborhood with a relaxed, unpretentious vibe, while the restaurant leans toward a more formal, upscale dining experience.

The food was excellent, & the service was impeccable. You can tell how much thought, care, & talent go into every dish & service. Each plate is beautifully executed, showcasing Italian cuisine with creativity, precision, & great flavour.

Where it fell short for me was the atmosphere. It felt more curated than genuinely welcoming, & I never got that effortless sense of hospitality & conviviality that makes Italian restaurants so special.

It's clearly a thoughtfully executed restaurant with a talented team behind it, but for me, the overall experience lacked the warmth & authenticity I was hoping for. I could easily see Berto appealing to an older clientele looking for a refined, quiet dinner in the north end of the island.
