Recently visited Berto's & although the service & atmosphere were definitely 5 stars, I was a little disappointed with the food. We ordered the un peu de chez moi cheese & meat platter, the crudo, the alla'Finanziera' pasta, & the fish of the day. The cheese & meat platter was good quality but nothing that you can't get at a local Italian market, the crudo was a little bland, the fish was nice, & the pasta was rather underwhelming. It was an offal pasta dish, which I usually love, but the chunks of organs were large in size, so the texture was hard to overcome & the flavour wasn't anything extraordinary. We skipped dessert as we weren't very impressed with the food overall. I do have to say that the cocktails were great & the wine selection was fantastic! Wouldn't go back for dinner but would consider it a nice spot for aperitivo.

Beautiful setting & delicious, authentic Italian dishes as per my Italian friend. Service top notch, exceeded expectations, will return & be happy every time. Don't fall for the other pseudo-Italian places in Little Italy, but don't go if you want spaghetti with meatballs if you get my drift. Go if you want real Roman fried artichokes & lemony pasta. Just incredible.
Première fois que j'écris un avis pour une première visite mais il faut propager la bonne nouvelle ! La passion culinaire a maintenant pignon sur rue dans Villeray - Osteria Berto. Un resto d'exception, décoré avec goût dans un environnement à la fois feutré & convivial. J'ai grandement apprécié tous mes plats gastronomiques & les saveurs étaient au rdv ! Faut le faire de s'exclamer devant une entrée de betteraves puis de nouveau devant une assiette de courgettes colorées puis les raviolis… sincèrement chaque assiette est préparée avec passion & techniques. A chaque plat j'attendais quelques minutes avant de prendre la première bouchée :). Je m'en voudrais de passer sous silence les suggestions de la sommelière Isabel Bordeleau. Ses propositions d'accords avec les mets étaient parfaits. Le personnel est attentionné & sympathique. Je vous invite sincèrement à découvrir cet endroit d'exception.

Expérience exceptionnelle. La maitrise de la cuisine est parfaite. Le service toujours présent & discret est digne des grandes maisons. De l'entrée au dessert, les produits d'ici sont mis en valeur avec énormément de talent. Accords mets & vins irréprochables.

Nous avons passé une excellente soirée à ce resto; ambiance, qualité de la nourriture, recommandation sur les accords Mets-Vin. Tout était excellent & l'attention aux détails est assez exceptionnelle (les verres, disposition des plats, etc.)!
