The portions were perfect, & the pasta transported me right to Bologna. The tortelli & the Quebec white asparagus were outstanding. & the desserts-wow! The gelato was the closest to Italy I've tasted in Montreal. A truly exceptional experience!
Berto has been long awaited, & it delivers. A chef & sommelier duo at the top of their craft, they offer not just a dinner but a full experience.
One of the unique touches is their sharing of vinegar from a private solera-something relatively rare in Quebec-which speaks to the level of care behind every detail.
The space is beautifully designed, including distinct dining areas & a 12-seat private room, creating an intimate & flexible atmosphere. The open pasta station adds to the experience, with fresh pasta made in-house daily in full view of guests.
The menu offers strong value, with appetizers & mains generally in the $20-$40 range. I highly recommend the artichoke appetizer & any of the homemade pasta dishes.
