Osmo X Marusan comes across as a stylish, vibrant cafe in downtown Montreal with a lively vibe, strong coffee and a notable lineup of matcha and hojicha lattes, plus creative Japanese inspired sandwiches such as tamago sando and karaage sando and curry bowls; the space and terrace are great for studying or hanging out, and a casual DJ moment adds to the atmosphere, but the place is often crowded and loud with long waits for food at peak times, and some dishes or portions can feel small or uneven while service can be variable, yet the overall experience centers on the ambiance and drinks and many guests say they would return to try new items.
We tried the Tamago Sando with the smoked salmon added & the Katsu Sando - both were good! The tamago was super flavourful & the salmon added the perfect touch. The katsu was a standout for us; the pork was incredibly tender & juicy. It's a very busy spot, but the food is definitely worth it.
As upon arriving you can seat yourself & order at the cash. I got the lemonade yuzu, which was okay. Not the best. Hojicha was delicious!!! & the vegan curry was pretty good as well. This place tends to be very loud so be aware of that.
Maybe its because it was Friday afternoon but the music was too loud & the genre kept changing every music so it wasn't a great place to work on your laptop. But the matcha was delicious.
They had the best karaage that I've ever had in North America so far. It is so juicy, tender & well-seasoned, always comes in fresh. They not just put the starch outside, but also keep the chicken skin & fried them well, which is really nice!
I would also recommend their matcha latte & h?jicha latte. They taste great as well!
The only downside for their meals is it comes with a small portion, only 2-3 pieces of chicken is a bit not enough. & the curry itself tastes a bit normal. I also ordered the karaage sandwich version but their bread is a bit dry. But at the end, definitely a big fan of the karaage flavor.

Cute little hidden next an old building & its underground. They have good music sometimes a bit loud but someone went to adjust the sound. Food was delicious. I really recommend the Tamago Sando egg sandwich. The sauce inside with the eggs were a great combination. Keep napkins near, it's a bit messy.
Ordered boiled egg sandwich, & had a matcha latte for the first time here. The sandwich was excellent, not over seasoned or soggy-nice & simple. The matcha was rich but not too heavy. The barista was very concentrated & careful while making it. The space was thoughtfully designed & clean without feeling sterile. Great experience overall.
Osmo is a perfect vibey place to chill & study on a rainy day….. their matcha is the BEST in town & I love that it isn't clumpy & oversweet like other places in the city that serve matcha. Also everyone that works here is a beautiful angel…. I come here a lot & have never gleaned a bad vibe. Just perfection! They will make ur day😁💓💓💓
Really packed coffee place. But their coffee is really good. I took the tamago sandwich which was supposedly their best seller. It was ok. The portion was good, I felt full after, but the flavour was a bit missing. Maybe I just got high expectations from it. Still really good tho! I think their curry are more worth it.

I enjoy the food a lot , I think I came 3-4 times now & every time it is ALWAYS long. Like there was never a time I did not wait a minimum of 25minutes & this is at ANY HOUR whether it's busy OR not. I think the staff should inform the clients that their order will take a long time. If You're looking for a quick fix/grab& go... forget it.BUT if you want a yummy quick flavouful sandwich definitely come :) service wise ... meh ... not impressed .
