Osmo X Marusan comes across as a stylish, vibrant cafe in downtown Montreal with a lively vibe, strong coffee and a notable lineup of matcha and hojicha lattes, plus creative Japanese inspired sandwiches such as tamago sando and karaage sando and curry bowls; the space and terrace are great for studying or hanging out, and a casual DJ moment adds to the atmosphere, but the place is often crowded and loud with long waits for food at peak times, and some dishes or portions can feel small or uneven while service can be variable, yet the overall experience centers on the ambiance and drinks and many guests say they would return to try new items.
Absolutely lovely, highly recommend. The music was a little maouder than what you'd expect from cafe background music, but that didn't bother me personally (the music was very cool)

Tried the karaage sando, tomago sando, & matcha latte. Latte & karaage sando were fantastic but I wouldn't recommend the tomago sando. Just a lot of sauce & bread with one boiled egg lol.
I saw the sandwiches on instagram & I wanted to try them, but they were sold out. I had the fried chicken curry, & actually was amazing. The chairs & the tables are metallic, a bit uncomfortable.

great food & cool vibes but definitely not a good place to get work done. it's located semi'underground' & has cool steel decor. the sandos are delicious & their matcha lattes are some of the best in the city! It does get quite loud in the cafe & the music is usually pretty loud too. plenty of seating but not enough outlets if you plan on doing work. Would recommend for going for lunch or hanging out!
Good food / coffee. Excessive noise for a "café". They have huge amp speakers & they blast aggressive music up to a limit of 80 dB. For reference the legal limit for workplace noise is 85 dB. Above that, protective gear must be used. When asked to slightly reduce the sound, they refuse & point to their dB meter, arguing that it's under the 80 threshold. I left with a headache.
The space was very nice & food was good as well, it was super crowded but that's no fault on the cafes part. However the music was so incredibly loud it was a little annoying. I also unironically saw a small rat in the lobby.
The drinks were nice! But it was a bit too loud with the music & the tables were kinda small & unbalanced. Also, it's kinda hard to find sockets. However, the service was top, & overall it's a nice & quite affordable place to have a chill gathering & get some work done!
