I'm amazed with the onigiris here. Mind you, i just came from my trip in Japan about a week ago & i was missing this 🥲. So i came accross this shop. & WOW. Rice was perfectly cooked & perfectly seasonned. The salmon filling was generous, well seasonned & does not even need soy sauce. & 4.99 each? Pretty good. Honestly a pearl at Verdun. Definetly going back to try theyre whole menu.
April 2026:
I am so disappointed. Last summer, Onigiri Shop was my go-to when I wanted a quick bite. As of recent, the rice is less fresh, the portions are smaller & the fillings have been greatly reduced. In addition, yesterday, I placed my order online & picked it up. 2/5 onigiris had the wrong fillings (I ordered two raw tuna & received two cooked tuna onigiris). I don't think I'll be back here.
June 2025:
Onigiri shop offers a variety of flavors, all equally delicious! I especially enjoyed the eel & salmon onigiri, but all of them were great. The portions are generous & only range between 4.99-7.99$ each. I was completely full after two portions. It takes around 15-20 minutes for the food to be prepared, but it's worth it!
The flavor is great! I ordered the chicken with mayonnaise & it had way too much rice compared to the filling. But that's just my personal opinion; I would definitely go back again

was really excited to try the onigiri in Verdun - I'd been wanting to taste them for a while. Unfortunately, we really didn't like them. We found there was way too much rice compared to the filling, & overall they were lacking flavor. Honestly, they just weren't very good.
That said, I do want to mention that the guys who served us were very, very, very nice & genuinely kind. The service itself was great.
We tried them a few months ago, so maybe things have changed since then - I'm not sure - but for us, the taste just wasn't there.
My husband went to this location in person a few weeks ago & came home with the most delicious spicy tuna & Korean chicken onigiri. I ordered on Uber eats about 30 min ago, since I couldn't go in person & to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. We ordered the same thing as the first time & decided to try the miso beef variation. The rice was more than warm & the filling lacked taste. The texture was also not the same as the first time we went. It's like we ordered from a different spot entirely. We will reconsider going back.
It was my first time here. I ordered 4 classic onigiri with different flavors. They were prepared in front of me neatly & with great attention to detail. The rice had a perfect texture, & the filling was very tasty. The man who served me was kind & friendly. Thank you very much for the pleasant service.
The reviews really hyped this place up. & it wasn't necessarily bad, but maybe I was just too excited.
The ratio of rice to filling was overwhelming & each one I had broke open way too easily.
Flavour was good & portion is solid but just put more filling & wrap it tighter.
Great onigiri for a good price, can get 3 onigiri (2 simple & 1 fusion) + a drink for less than 20$. The onigiri are quite filling & aren't the small one you would imagine from movies or shows.
Rice was overcooked & underseasoned, filling was dry & over salted. The nori was too small for the amount of filling, soggy, & the whole thing fell apart in the container. I went to another onigiri shop last year that was quite good, so not sure what happened here...
