Reviews describe Onigiri Shop as a cozy, quick-serve spot where onigiri are prepared to order with fresh fillings and soft rice. Common favorites include salmon, tuna mayo, unagi, shrimp tempura, and the Fuji Mountain, with many calling them flavorful and generously filled. The overall mood praises quick, friendly service and good value, with portions that satisfy without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is noted as welcoming and casual, though lunchtime crowds can make the shop busy and the interior sometimes feel cool. A few comments mention a wish for grab and go options, neater wrappers, and packaging improvements, while vegan and vegetarian fillings are highlighted as a plus. Occasional criticisms include delivery issues and fillings that are not as spicy as some expect, but these do not overshadow the general sense of freshness and quality. Overall, Onigiri Shop is widely regarded as one of the best onigiri spots in the area, a reliable place for a delicious, satisfying quick bite.
This onigiri shop is really good, with perfectly sticky rice that holds together nicely. The tuna mayo is especially delicious & gives an instant taste of Japan. It gets very busy during lunchtime, so I'd recommend going a bit later if you want to avoid the wait. My only wish is that they offered some pre-made onigiri ready to grab & go, & used the classic Japanese onigiri wrappers. That would make it much easier to slip one into a pocket & head out, instead of using the flimsy plastic containers.

Yummy!
Very reasonable prices, filling, healthy meals. My first time having real onigiri. Tasty! Can tell a lot of love is put into the ingredients.
I have tried the vege mix, wakame, & vege mix + wakame! The third was my favourite but they're all good. Lots of vegan options too which is so nice (& so rare!!)
Service is quick. Staff is always kind & accommodating. I highly recommend this shop!
Only thing is it tends to be cold! Especially when the door gets stuck open. I recommend bringing a warm coat if you come in the winte
The Onigiri (Japanese Rice Ball shaped into a triangle) at Onigiri Shop Mile End was good. Would definitely recommend if craving a good onigiri in the Montreal, QC area.
The Fuji Mountain Onigiri (fresh salmon, kanikama (crab stick), shrimp, avocado, kelp, grilled cheese, egg yolks, furikake, & tempura) was delicious & filling. The assortment of seafood, egg yolk, veggies, & sauce work wonderfully in this onigiri.
The Beef-Tama Onigiri (miso marinated beef, egg yolk & green onion) was good. The beef was flavourful & delicious.
Of the two onigiris, we liked the Fuji Mountain Ongiri the best :)

I was blown away by how nice the interior of this onigiri shop was! Staff was friendly & helpful. Many different filling options for every taste, though I must recommend the Mount Fuji onigiri!
A must-visit for a delicious, quick meal 😊
Spectacular Onigiri! One of the best I've had in Montreal! I was quite surprised how big their'Classic' size onigiri was, (which is the smallest). The service was great & the atmosphere was pleasant & cozy. I ordered the spicy raw tuna, which I found to be not hot at all, but maybe I have a good tolerance for spice. Happily, they gave me a generous portion of raw tuna, which was incredibly fresh, a good deal at $5. It came served on a beautiful wooden plate, which looked great, but unfortunately it quickly fell apart in my hands as I was eating, which never happened to me before. Nevertheless, I highly recommend Onigiri Shop Mile End, & I look forward to trying the rest of their menu.
