I recently hosted my engagement dinner at Nolan for 40 guests & it was truly unforgettable. Everyone who attended commented on how outstanding both the food & service were. The chef went above & beyond in creating a beautiful, customized menu for our group, complete with thoughtful wine pairings that elevated the entire experience.
The team handled dietary restrictions seamlessly, & service was flawless-dishes arrived at the right pace & glasses were always full.
Nolan was the perfect place to celebrate, & the staff made the evening exceptional.
Very great spot in Griffintown/little Burgundy food is fresh & tasteful well presented. The atmosphere is warmth & the wine list is great by the glass or by the bottle
Great place for date night or dinner with friends. Delicious food, great service & wonderful wine recommendations.
Service was top, Tommy & Julien really take care of there clients. Wine was excellent! Food was incredible to say the least . Very creative menu, le gros chef Charles is a genius. The wine is top & the waiters are very knowledgeable & will guide you for your perfect wine pairing. Thank you Nolan for the great experience will Definetly return!
While I have heard great things about Nolan, I was very disappointed with my experience.
We ordered Zucchini flowers, mushrooms, pasta dishes & tomatoes.
The zucchini flowers & the mushroom were deep fried, but it was a lot of batter & it was dry/burnt in my opinion (you can see the pictures for reference). I would not recommend either of these dishes.
The tomatoes with the labneh were delicious, & this was probably the highlight of the meal. The pasta dishes were good.
The service is what really frustrated me. It started off great, but our waiter disappeared halfway through our meal. I was interested in trying some wines, but I was only proposed one glass (it was empty as of the second course). Half an hour after our plates were cleared, no one asked if we wanted any dessert. I finally had to call out to a neighbouring waiter to get the bill. Ironically, the tipping options were set to 20% to 25%. It might be in view of the new law that passed, & that would have been ok nowadays if the service was at least passable.
In retrospect, I sound picky, but the food was not great & the lack of attention was frustrating. I think my expectations were fair for the cost of the meal. Perhaps it was an off-night, given the other reviews, but I'm not sure if I'll be trying it again.
be vigilant! beware of server overcharging & adding items to bill! Had a great time at Nolan til our server tried to pull a fast one. When we received our bill, we realized there were 4 glasses of wine, when in reality we only ordered 3. We pointed that out to our server, we got a passive aggressive apology. When he returned, he gave us the machine this time without the bill.. sorry??? In what world is that okay. We said we would like to see the bill please, he put it on the table & walked away. Checking the bill again, he added the more expensive appetizer & not the one we actually ordered. So obviously we pointed that out again, now this great time at Nolan is being tainted by this annoying & unnecessary exchange. Giving the benefit of the doubt; we didn't assume he was doing this on purpose but at last, when we mentioned it was the wrong appetizer (with a higher price) he got irritated with us & said there's nothing he can do & how there's no manager available to change it. sorry?!?
Great food at Nolan but servers filled with a lot of audacity.
great spot!! awesome wine selection, knowledgeable & very friendly staff. cute & cozy interior! prices were very reasonable & the food was really good! portions were a bit small but great appetizers to split.
This review is based on my visit last October during a short trip to Montreal. We visited this place as walk-ins. It was a Monday, & I assume that's why there was only one server, which led to a wait of about 10 minutes before being seated. The service, however, was friendly & helpful. I don't remember the exact taste of everything we ordered at this point, but the quail dish stood out as impressive. On the other hand, the shishito peppers felt lacking in flavor & a bit bland. I hadn't checked the price range for glasses of wine beforehand, & they were around $18-19, which felt a bit pricey. Overall, including tips, we paid about $100 each, but it didn't really feel worth this much.
Personal favorite !! Always amazing food, wine & ambiance. Service is impeccable ! Highly recommend & will definitely come back !
Absolutely love this neighbour gem - meals are always inventive & delicious, with a great variety of choices while still being a curated menu of seasonal & market-inspired dishes. Cocktails & wine choices are expertly chosen by Tommy & Tiffany respectively - go in completely indecisive & they will ensure you leave happy & full. I love stopping in after work for a chill night - "as you are" is the motto & they maintain an atmosphere that shows they mean it. Highly recommend for a date or dinner with friends!
We were able to get a spot at the bar & had the tasting menu & wines at their recommendation. Everything was great.
Good food, cute atmosphere our server was lovely. The wine list is pricey but that seems to be normal for the area.
This is a culinary gem. The dishes are creative using regional & seasonal foods. We had the pre fixe dinner & let Nolan choose our courses. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable & enthusiastic about each dish & their ingredients whether it was the regional corn or the champagne grapes. He was expert at suggesting wines that paired well with our dishes or alligned with our individual preferences. The neighborhood restaurant vibe is cozy, comfortable & welcoming with a great playlist of music. Nolan is a "must" if you are a true foodie looking for a unique Montreal dining experience in a true neighborhood restaurant whose chef loves the season's bounty & creating masterful French inspired dishes.
We had such an amazing experience, we told the waitress to bring everything on the menu as we were a big group, it was delicious & the wine pairing was on poing as well!
Best meal I've had in ages. The four of us opted for the chef's choice menu & it was amazing. Lots of locally sourced vegetables, vegetable oils, perfectly cooked steak & trout, Basque cake for dessert, perfect wine selections. Outstanding. Cool friendly vibe. Perfect!
Food was excellent, great wine selection. Absolutely worth the trip from Mirabel, will go back again ◡̈
It's a new experience every time we go to Nolan, each as amazing as the last & more. Hands down our favorite spot for quality & audacious food, wines, cocktails! Thanks to all Nolan's team for just existing & fostering this absolute cool dining vibe!
WOW. A wine lover's dream. Wine list is extensive & impressive. Wines by the glass are available & the staff is fantastic at guiding you through a great experience based on what you tell them about your preferences.
