be vigilant! beware of server overcharging & adding items to bill! Had a great time at Nolan til our server tried to pull a fast one. When we received our bill, we realized there were 4 glasses of wine, when in reality we only ordered 3. We pointed that out to our server, we got a passive aggressive apology. When he returned, he gave us the machine this time without the bill.. sorry??? In what world is that okay. We said we would like to see the bill please, he put it on the table & walked away. Checking the bill again, he added the more expensive appetizer & not the one we actually ordered. So obviously we pointed that out again, now this great time at Nolan is being tainted by this annoying & unnecessary exchange. Giving the benefit of the doubt; we didn't assume he was doing this on purpose but at last, when we mentioned it was the wrong appetizer (with a higher price) he got irritated with us & said there's nothing he can do & how there's no manager available to change it. sorry?!?
Great food at Nolan but servers filled with a lot of audacity.
A great experience overall. A fun atmosphere, amazing service, wonderful & friendly staff, & delicious seasonal dishes.
On the menu:
• Beet: Lonza, Chives Sour cream, Blood Sorrel

• Cabbage: Ranch, Piperade, Anchovy
• Crab: Homemade POM Bread, Tarragon, Quebec Ginger
• Striploin (PEI): Forestière Sauce, Potato straws, Persillade
• Beef: Honey Mustard, Louis d'Or, Sweet Potatoes
• Panna Cotta: Mocha, Greek Yogourt, Oranges Gel
• ... & a bunch of delicious, custom made cocktails.
Amazing experience loved everything! Definitely worth it
The toffee pudding cake was 10/10
This place is amazing! Service is warm & friendly but very professional. Food is creative & taste amazing. Tommy treated me & my family first class. Will definitely be a spot each time I visit Montreal!
Delicious meal! Beef tartare was incredible, we ended up taking two!! There were a few dishes that lacked flavour & the pesto pasta was overly salted, but all in all highly recommend. The toffee with black tea caramel was absolutely stunning! Staff is well knowledge both about food & drinks, atmosphere is cozy & personal, but very dim. Food takes some time, but it's worth it as each plate is carefully thought out & put together. Ingredients are seasonal & local. Plates are small & made to share, we took 6 dishes for 4 people.
For the price of the tasting menu, I didn't feel the food was up to standard. However, I understand & respect that they use local ingredients & it's not cheap. The staff is very nice, which made the experience pleasant. However, it is extremely loud. When the restaurant is full, there is a huge amount of echo, enhancing everyone's conversations, so if you're coming here to speak & hear each other, maybe consider another place. This was the loudest restaurant I've been to in Montreal. The owner should consider putting insolation & sound cutters through decorations.
I do recommend if you want to encourage local & like to taste different things.
great spot!! awesome wine selection, knowledgeable & very friendly staff. cute & cozy interior! prices were very reasonable & the food was really good! portions were a bit small but great appetizers to split.
Very mediocre. The appetizers are intended to be "shareable" but they're really minuscule portions. The mains are pricey & average.
This review is based on my visit last October during a short trip to Montreal. We visited this place as walk-ins. It was a Monday, & I assume that's why there was only one server, which led to a wait of about 10 minutes before being seated. The service, however, was friendly & helpful. I don't remember the exact taste of everything we ordered at this point, but the quail dish stood out as impressive. On the other hand, the shishito peppers felt lacking in flavor & a bit bland. I hadn't checked the price range for glasses of wine beforehand, & they were around $18-19, which felt a bit pricey. Overall, including tips, we paid about $100 each, but it didn't really feel worth this much.
