Nikkei MTL brille comme un lieu animé où les saveurs péruviennes et japonaises se mêlent dans des présentations lumineuses et une carte de cocktails créative, avec de nombreux convives qualifiant les plats innovants et délicieux et l'atmosphère chaleureuse et accueillante. Le bar et le service sont régulièrement loués pour leur attention et leur personnalité, offrant des soirées mémorables au comptoir ou en salle. Bien que les portions et les prix fassent l'objet de quelques remarques et que certains retours mentionnent un rythme plus lent ou des maladresses, dans l'ensemble les clients repartent impressionnés par la qualité, la variété des plats en tapas et les menus dégustation qui marient saveurs audacieuses et fraîcheur.
I had a reservation for 5 on a tuesday night. the waiter seemed annoyed to be serving us. the drinks took an hour, & he did not come by to place our order until about 40 min after we ordered the drinks. food & drink were delicious, but we were so hungry by the time we got the first round of tapas we decided not to order anything else. I speak French, but the others in the party didn't, & I noticed other (French) tables getting their food & service much quicker. Very disappointing experience.
The food was mediocre, the drinks were not good & were quite expensive. I have had much better food at places with less of a price tag. We will not be going back.
Overall fun atmosphere & good food/drinks but not memorable & pretty expensive. Also, aside from the ramen dish, portions were smaller than other similar Peruvian/Japanese restaurants I've been to. We paid over $320 for 4 people (2 beers, 4 cocktails & 7-8 tapas). I recommend the ramen dish which was everyone's favorite.
Food was good but way overpriced for what it is. Drinks in the menu look amazing & tempting, but comments from my friends did not actually like them, I had a mocktail & it was delicious, so maybe it was just the alcoholic drinks. Over all Worth a try has a nice & ambience. I only gave it four stars because for the overpriced food, the light decorations & the decorations on the ceiling seem very cheap for how much you're paying for the food.

Belle ambiance, les repas & les drinks sont très beau visuellement. Le service est bien & le staff est nice & engagé. En général, je ne suis pas un super fan de fruits de mer. Par contre, j'ai bien apprécié ce qu'on m'a offert. Saumon super, viande aussi. En général j'ai eu une bonne expérience. C'est très vivant comme endroit. Ça vaut la peine d'y faire un tour. Bon appétit!
The ambiance & drinks were great! the food was also very good but the portions were ridiculously small. $23-30 per plate, we ordered 6 plates for 3 ppl & left hungry. the food itself was delicious tho! Standout was the tuna on rice cake, amazing! & the Pisco Sour was outstanding.
Service by Emily was fantastic! The cocktails were beautifully crafted & picture perfect. A great selection of sake. We went with our servers recommendation & had a blind tasting the Udon with Benito was a hit! The scallop with caviar was a delight & the dessert dulce de lecce did not disappoint. Just to name a few & it was all memorable! The bartender came up & made some suggestions as well. The drinks were a hit! It was nice to see the staff immersed in our experience. A great vibe we can't wait to come back!

Nikkei has certainly delivered to the true Japanese tradition with Peruvian ingredients. The Aburi Nigiri with fillet mignon is sublime & we stopped at licking the plate. However our table manners went out the door when we finished the sashimi-style tiradito Nikkei & we could not resist slurping the leche de tigre left in the dish (trying to hide from the good looking afluent crowd which was as mixed as the food itself). The kumquat chilcano was the perfect drink to start with, & as Negroni has been my go-to apperitif since I had it in Italy many years ago, I had to try the Millonaire's Negroni.......WOW!!! This is without doubt my new favourite! How to describe it? Negroni on steroids that puts any negroni attempt to shame. It is like comparing a fiat500 & a ferrari.
We finish with the Sopa Sepia & the Ribu arequipeño.....here you need to forget you mom telling you DONT EAT with you fingers.... the ribs taste much better with you fingers...... then wash your hands, regain your posture & tell your neighbour at the chef counter they should try it too.
Really worth the detour. Drinks are imaginative & well balanced. Food was excellent (perhaps a bit too much rice in each serving). Service was attentive. Ambiance was good. It would be worth it to invest in a glass vestibule & double doors (we were cold close to the door in winter). Will go again.
The restaurant was a great atmosphere, amazing drinks, & some of the best service I have seen. I was not very fond of the ribs & the scallops (personal taste) but the rest of the food was excellent. Overall great experience!
We were served by the manager who was really attentive & gave us great food recommandations. All the staffs was friendly & attentive. The fusion & the attention put in every meal is remarkable. The drinks menu is also great. Will definitely come back.
