Just what I expected from a mall eatery. We came here because it was close to the airport.
Food was prompt, friendly (thanks Regina!) & plentiful. We ordered the classic poutine, jumbo smoked meat sandwich & two burgers. Fries were ok, not too crispy, but still tasty. The place was very clean & the server checked on us a few times.
I forgot to take a photo of the food when it came, but from the bowl, you can tell it was a generous poutine.
Prices were fair. I think it's definitely deserving of a higher rating!
This was my first experience with Canadian poutine. Did it live up to the hype? I didn't think so, but I'd give it another chance.
I stopped at Nickels Deli for lunch & tried the Nickels Poutine, a'classic poutine with smoked meat'. The dish was served hot & didn't take too long. The smoked meat appeared to be some kind of diced ham (Canadian bacon?). The portion size was more than enough, & it tasted fine but seems like an odd thing to eat as a main dish.
The server did not check on me after I received my food. He asked to refresh my drink when I was ready to pay. It felt a bit inattentive. The restaurant did not seem overly busy while I was there.
Atmosphere was calm & causal. Cool looking bar area. I'd probably dine somewhere else next time I visit the Montreal area.
Serveuse vraiment à l'écoute du client. Service rapide & efficace. Portion plus que généreuse & très bon au goût. Je reviendrai très certainement. Qualité prix raisonnable. Merci à votre équipe. En passant j'ai mangé spaghetti nickel, servi avec smoked Meat sur le spaghetti, délicieux.
On an overnight layover, stayed nearby & a short walk here at late afternoon. Got the sandwich to take away. Excellent iconic Montreal specialty: smoked meat .

J'ai commandé pour emporter "Le Star" (sandwich au smoked meat) & un gâteau au fromage. Le smoked meat était correct; j'ai déjà mangé mieux ailleurs (plusieurs traces de gras au milieu de la viande même si j'ai demandé très "lean". Le gâteau était cependant délicieux! J'ai mangé que la moitié de tout ça car pour une personne c'est beaucoup trop! Ça fera un autre repas demain! & la demoiselle à la réception a été très serviable & gentille, ceci avec un grand sourire! Merci beaucoup!
My family had a brief stopover we would take them back to the back to the Airport to catch a later flight. Since they wanted to have smoked meat & poutine they chose this restaurant close by. The food was good & the service was amazing our waitress even laughed at my husband's jokes. We plan on going back for breakfast those pancakes look enticing. Thank you Nickles for the excellent quick frienfly service.

A solidly okay place. The food was tasty but for the giant smoked meat sandwich the meat is very strategically placed to make it look like there's more than there is. The fries were a good "dirty oil" fry with a nice color. No one asked if we wanted more to drink. Only one check in during the meal. It took forever to get the bill & the place lacked atmosphere.
The smoked meat sandwich was loaded with lots of smoked meat. I like the option of lean or medium for the smoked meat. I had the medium, very juicy. French fries & Cole slaw were a great accompaniment.
