My wife & I stop in every time we appointment or flying out & coming back from a trip great place to eat, stop in if you ever need a place to eat & drink.
Tout simplement médiocre ! J'y étais allée une première fois l'été dernier & la serveuse, une dame âgée, était très agressante & malpolie d'autant plus qu'elle n'a fait que m'apportez le repas sans venir me voir à la table une seule fois. J'y suis allée une deuxième fois hier, espérant que c'était une autre serveuse pour ne pas avoir un service médiocre comme la dernière fois.. Malheur c'était elle ! L'hôte venait nous placer à la table & elle lui disait sur un ton bête : non pas 3 menus juste 2 ! J'étais avec ma mère âgée mon garçon de 7 ans & ma fille de 1 an. Lorsque ma mère, à mobilité réduite, a voulu une banquette elle a haussé le ton & a dit : kessé ki ya ! C'est quoi le problème ! C'était une sortie, un souper en famille, on voulait passer une belle soirée c'est pur quoi on a décidé d'aller manger ailleurs ! La vieille dame serveuse est très frue & nonchalante. Elle n'a aucune manière & est très nonchalante !u Vous devriez engager une serveuse qui a de l'allure !
Bad service & overall a very disappointing experience. The waitress came across as unfriendly & uninterested, which made the visit uncomfortable. I understand everyone has off days, but when you're working in hospitality, basic friendliness & attentiveness matter. Unfortunately, I would not return based on this experience.
I don't usually go out of my way to post bad reviews, but this was really really bad. The food came within 2 minutes because that's how long someone prepared it for. Cold meat on untoasted stale bread with a slap of mustard on top. It is worse than fast food quality for double the price. The servers were very kind & friendly, so I hope that maybe if the quality improves it could be a much nicer place.
Went there on Easter Monday lunch time, foods are good but modest size. Kids menu is brilliant, we ordered salty beef sandwich & the meat tasted as good as the popular spots in town! Won't come here specifically, but a rather good choice if you are in the area & not sure which one to chose, won't go wrong with Nickels.
Nice spot had what the waitress described as what Nickels is know for, the Montreal smoked meat on rye, it was alright. Peters on Ellington in Mississauga was better with more depth of flavou
DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT
First & last time coming here. Never in my life have I walked out of a restaurant before getting food. Waited over an hour for 2 sandwiches for lunch. Waitress took 3 tables' orders back to back with us in the middle, the other 2 got their food in a reasonable time, the table who ordered after us actually finished eating & left before we got anything. Waitress tried to blame it on the computer but she was clearly lying.
Cherry on top was that after an hour of waiting she brought a small bowl of about 10 french fries to try to make up for the wait. We left immediately after she set down that bowl.
This restaurant & its service is an absolute joke.
Nickels Deli is a reliable spot for classic comfort food. The portions are generous, the menu has plenty of variety, & everything is consistently tasty. With friendly service & a relaxed atmosphere, it's a great place for a casual meal any time of day.
