Had the absolute worst experience at Nhau Bar. I was really excited to come here for my friend's birthday, but the service was terrible, & the staff was awfully rude. At first, we are told that we need to check our coats, & that we won't be let into the bar with any coats on, even a jean jacket. So they force us to pay $4 per coat check just to go into the bar, while when we went down into the bar others were wearing their coats & jackets. So what a big scam & truly despicable. As well, I know we had a young group go, but if we are giving our IDs, yes, you can be skeptical, but there is no need to laugh, which the waitress denied doing... but she did, also giving a lot of rude attitude to everyone. It was the rudest tone we have ever encountered at a bar, & it added to this terrible experience. Besides that, the drinks were fine. I appreciated the atmosphere in the bar & the free dessert for my friend, but our mood was thrown off, & we just had an awful time. It is truly sad to be treated like this for no apparent reason. We just wanted to have a calm, respectful time, but we were met with overt rudeness. I say this regretfully, as I hate talking down businesses, but personally, I know I will never return & would never recommend anyone go here if this is what they will be met with.
I highly recommend the chicken wings & crispy broccoli! I had the pad thai too & it was a great portion with enough for leftovers! The staff was super nice & very attentive. The ambiance & vibe in the restaurant is intimate & great for catching up with friends or a date.

As someone who's ethnically Vietnamese, I was super excited to try this place. Especially since I saw it highly recommended as a (Vietnamese) speakeasy. & while I appreciated the location, decor, & decor -- I felt the service & drinks were under par. I also appreciated the live DJ, but I think I was hoping for a more speak'easy' vibe. I can see how this is a highly rated experience for some people though!
The DJs really know how to curate a vibe, incredible track choices if you're into house/techno. The Moscow Mules were great & all the staff were accommodating. One of my favourite spots in the city - highly recommended!
Our first speakeasy experience & definitely something to write home about! Really cozy & unique atmosphere, wonderful attentive service, & the best cocktails we've ever had. Definitely recommend the No Ego & Cacao Kakaw in particular! Cocktails range from $15-30 each but definitely worth it.

While the overall ambiance of Nhậu Bar was energetic & fitting for a night out, the temperature inside was notably warm. A slightly cooler environment would have made the experience more comfortable, especially when the bar gets crowded. The music selection at Nhậu Bar deserves special mention. It provided a great backdrop to the evening, enhancing the lively mood without being overpowering. L'expertise des barmen était évidente à chaque gorgée, & leur passion pour la création de boissons uniques a ajouté au plaisir général. Le service a été un autre point fort de notre visite. Le personnel était amical, attentif & compétent, ce qui nous a permis de nous sentir bien accueillis & pris en charge tout au long de la soirée. Leurs recommandations étaient justes, garantissant que chaque boisson que nous avons essayée était à notre goût. Super cute bar, does start feeling like a club after 11 pm ish (they brought out a fog machine & blasted music). Our bartender Matthias was awesome. The food here was really good I just wouldn’t recommend the pandan cocktail cause the froth was really weird. Honestly the best bar with the best vibes in montreal. All of the staff were super friendly.

Went for a double birthday, said they could accommodate our large group but we were all sat facing one way, shoulder to shoulder. Service was very slow & pretty dismissive. interior is cool, recommend going with a smaller group.
