Nhau bar se présente comme un endroit intime et original où une ambiance underground et un décor soigné accompagnent des cocktails créatifs, parfois tiki inspirés, et des plats variés allant des tapas à une dégustation, le tout offrant des saveurs bien équilibrées et une expérience culinaire recherchée. Le service est globalement apprécié pour sa gentillesse et sa disponibilité, avec des suggestions adaptées et des ingrédients de qualité, mais certaines expériences ont été entachées par un accueil moins chaleureux ou une communication insuffisante et il est arrivé que la salle soit très bruyante lorsque l animation montait. L ambiance attire des visiteurs cherchant une ambiance conviviale et une énergie de bar speakeasy, avec une musique plaisante et une sensation d immersion, même si certains avis trouvent le volume trop élevé. Beaucoup soulignent la constance des cocktails et la créativité des boissons, ainsi que la qualité des plats, et bien que le rapport qualité prix soit parfois perçu comme élevé, il est souvent justifié par l expérience et l atmosphère, ce qui incite à revenir pour explorer de nouvelles propositions.
Fantastic, impeccable with great lounge music. Their drinks were delicious & their food was spectacular. We ordered the degustation experience with 5 plates. All the food was fantastic, lot of different flavours. You have to try their fries broccoli. Will definitely come back.
We were having a great time last night . Great drinks & great atmosphere. We were seated & had a table & all of a sudden very rudely we were asked to leave the table because there was allegedly a reservation. The waiter said only bottle service at the table, however, it had been over 1 h 30 mins wee were at the table having drinks, which by the way are not cheap at at all. Cheapest cocktail with tax & tips is $20 & my friend paid $38 for 2 glasses of red wine.I told the waiter my friend wanted to order a bottle of wine to which she answered: other people will order more expensive bottles than that. I was so pissed. The table next to us, which we didn't know, offered us to be with them, but the waiter said with attitude: it will be too crowded. I then talked to the guy that took the table & told him what happened. He told me he didn't have a reservation but in order for him to enter the bar he was told he needed to buy a bottle. Long story short, we were treated like garbage after being already consuming in the place & having a good time. The worst part is that the 2 women servers lied to us & didn't even feel sorry & they felt this was normal to treat customers like this. Never going back again.
We had an amazing time at Nhau! It's a great space with some thoughtful attention to detail, such as some lovely incense staff attended to that really made the space warm & inviting.
You'll find tiki & tiki-inspired drinks here, & while that usually suggests tropical, fruity, & pretty sweet libations, bartender Kali really shines at balancing everything!
It got busy later in the evening & she was a whirlwind behind the bar, but was also bubbly & passionate about the craft when we had any questions, taking the time to discuss & engage with us. She is excellent at bringing in a beautiful savoury element to the drinks, & just has this intuitive spark; one of my later orders was pretty good, but didn't quite hit like the others, & she somehow just knew. Without a word, Kali later whisked it away & in moments redid it from scratch, proclaiming,'I like to make this one a little different...' & it became something special, more beet-forward, balanced, & layered.
There is a crowded lineup of top cocktail destinations in this city, but some have been resting on past accolades & become complacent. Nhau demonstrates the ability to brawl with the best of them, & has easily become one of our cocktail bars to revisit the next time we return to Montreal!
Sometimes, all you need is a great night with friends! & it's perfect when delicious food is served! From Pad Thai, salmon, Bao buns, to incredible drinks, eveything was… Yum!
With lots of laughs & a few too many cocktails, the ambiance was buzzing! Thanks to the staff & the amazing music from a top DJ Francisco!
Drinks are amazing & well-priced! Our servers were really kind & chill. One of the top speakeasy/cocktail bars that I have been to - wasn't too crazy but very fun.
Was super excited to go here on the long weekend, & the entrance was amazing; walking down the stairs was awe-inspiring, & the place (downstairs) was beautiful.
However, the sound volume was so loud that we had to leave after a few minutes. Didn't even get a chance to order a drink.
Note to the DJ - louder does not mean better (you were wearing headphones). I feel sorry for the staff hear - must have ear ringing for days.

Dropped in on a slow Wednesday night. Niki & Daphne were great company, telling us stories of what it was like to grow up in France (Niki) & Quebec (Daphne). Very friendly folks.
The drinks were very well balanced & the atmosphere was cozy. I experienced flavors that I've never tasted before in cocktails.
As someone who's ethnically Vietnamese, I was super excited to try this place. Especially since I saw it highly recommended as a (Vietnamese) speakeasy. & while I appreciated the location, decor, & decor -- I felt the service & drinks were under par. I also appreciated the live DJ, but I think I was hoping for a more speak'easy' vibe. I can see how this is a highly rated experience for some people though!
Super place avec ambiance cozy & hors de l'ordinaire. Demander s'il va y avoir un DJ pour le soir ou vous voulez y aller, ce sera un gros plus même si ce n'est pas nécessaire pour passer un bon moment l'as-bas Laissez-vous tenter avec des drinks plus spéciaux les uns que les autres.

Way too much ice in pricy drinks made them overpriced, music was way too loud for an underground speakeasy (DJ needs to check autistic levels first to ensure it's lively but also balanced & not perching). Wasn't amazing, wasn't bad. Average place, seemed like a place that used to be a hot place to go to, & got too comfortable. Services was great though.
Arnaud-thierry is the best bartender you can ask for!!! the drinks he made us were out of this world. I come to nhau bar at least twice a month this visit was different because of Arnaud the drinks tasted even better than they already are ! Ask for Arnaud he will make your experience worth it!! merci beaucoup 🤩
