Nama Omakase exceeded all expectations! We were a last-minute group of 15 people, & they went above & beyond to accommodate us seamlessly. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable-attentive, professional, & incredibly welcoming.
The food was absolutely delicious, with every course showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients & masterful preparation. Each bite was a perfect balance of flavors, making it a truly unforgettable dining experience.
Beyond the food, the vibe was fantastic-elegant yet relaxed, with a great ambiance that made the evening even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend Nama Omakase for anyone looking for an exceptional experience, whether for an intimate dinner or a large group gathering. Will definitely be coming back!View more

Je dirais : spectaculaire. L'accueil est très soigné & personnalisé, il me semble que nous avons été servis par un jeune homme originaire de Marseille, extrêmement agréable. Je suis venue en tête-à-tête avec une de mes meilleures amies, nous nous sommes régalées du début à la fin & avons passé un excellent moment. D'habitude je n'aime pas tellement les huîtres, la façon dont elles étaient servies & cuisinées m'a donné envie d'en manger plus souvent. Tout était extrêmement bien travaillé, des saveurs différentes & des mélanges/alliances que l'on a pas l'habitude de déguster (je suis pourtant très -trop?- épicurienne). Nous sommes venues en fin d'été dernier mais mon amie y est retournée récemment & m'a dit que c'était toujours aussi bon, & honnêtement pour ce que l'on déguste : les tarifs sont corrects. Pour ma part il faudra que j'attende un peu car j'habite maintenant à 8000km de Montréal :) merci & sans doute à une autre fois !View more

Ne vaut pas les 400$ pour 2 que ça à coûté. Service sans attention, les prix sont trop haut pour la quantité. On s'attends à de petites attentions à ce prix.. rien. Très froid & lent comme endroit. Il y a mieux, vraiment.View more

If you've ever wondered what it's like to ascend to sushi nirvana, look no further than Chef GaCong's omakase experience in Montreal. I went in expecting a fancy dinner, but I walked out questioning everything I thought I knew about food, art, & frankly, life itself. From the first dish, it became clear that this wasn't just dinner-it was performance art. GaCong doesn't just prepare sushi; he crafts edible masterpieces with the precision of a neurosurgeon & the flair of a Broadway director. The presentation was so immaculate that I hesitated to eat it, half out of respect & half because I didn't want to ruin the Picasso before me. Every bite was an existential crisis. The kind of flavors that make you reevaluate your childhood memories of eating supermarket sushi. & then there's GaCong himself. A man of infinite skill, he runs the sushi bar like a virtuoso conductor leading a symphony of flavors. GaCong is also a great host with plenty of wonderful tips about Montreal & hockey! This guy isn't just a chef; he's a culinary prophet. Sure, it comes with a hefty price tag, but let's be real-can you really put a price on a spiritual awakening? My only regret is that I'll never experience this meal for the first time again. Chef GaCong, please remember me when you're world-famous.View more

But what really made this meal so special was the attentive & friendly service, the ambiance, & the welcoming environment. The wine was great too! Une surprise de l'homme! On ne se fait pas vraiment de cadeau, mais il me paye un très bon souper. Ce fu absolument délicieux!! Nous avions le chef à nous seul, habituellement cette place est pleine, on a donc eu la chance de discuter amplement avec lui & avions reçu de belles attentions. Plusieurs belles découvertes & certaines qui nous ont surpris au plus au point. La qualité des ingrédients est hors pairs!! The Chef GaCong treated us to a very memorable 14-course meal, full of fresh ingredients, enticing flavour combinations, & beautiful presentation. Every course had a personal touch that really made the whole experience feel unique. The amount of food was just right, too. The atmosphere was rest & the restaurant has an amazing decor with very noticeable attention to details. Nous avons essayé Nama un midi pour un petit repas de fête à deux. C'était délicieux. Tout était à la hauteur de nos attentes & meme plus. Le katsu aubergine était particulièrement bon, on y sert aussi du vrai wasabi & de la sauce soya vieilli. Le decor est moderne & de bon goût. Le service attentif. There's a very popular Omakase restaurant in Montreal & I always found it a shame that we didn't have more of those experiences. A friend of mine told me about Nama having an Omakase experience & I had to check it out. I'm glad to say that everything about it was fantastic. It's a little more "fusion" then pure Japanese cuisine, but all the meals were great. I highly suggest trying it out if you love trying course style dinner experiences. If you just want a regular dining experience, there's tables & a menu for that as well. A couple of small nitpicks compared to the other Omakase restaurant in MTL: they had us wait before being seated despite us arriving on time, they didn't offer to take our jackets (which can add a little touch of extra service) & they mentioned a cocktail menu, but we never saw/received it. That being said, I want to give a HUGE shoutout to the chef & his team as at the very last minute, I found out that my date was allergic to wheat flour (similar to having to avoid gluten, but she was ok with soya sauce for instance) & initially the waiter said she couldn't get the Omakase & could only eat 2-3 meals in the regular menu. The chef then personally came to our seats to discuss in detail about her allergies & luckily she could take the Omakase thanks to the cuisine substituting 3 dishes just for her.
