The chicken broth was delicious but that tiny little 3.5 pieces of chicken was dry & tasteless. Then it is clear why people line up for the other noddle soup restaurant right across the street. I paid extra for the no wait time. It is over price for the quality of the cheap ingredients… 2 pieces of broccoli & a table spoon of corns.View more
Would be better if they heat the pot, & bring the dishes & the soup separately like the one in brossard, otherwise it's not Yunnan enough.View more
This is seriously overhyped. I was really looking forward to it.
I went for the spicy & sour soup noodles. The taste was decent, but the ingredient quality was just average. I suppose given the price range, it’s not too terrible. Plus, the appetizer portions were disappointingly tiny. We ordered the peanut butter wonton & skewered teriyaki chicken.View more
The soup is delicious & the service is good. Will be back again.View more
Skip the entrees, none of them were good - the 5 spice beef was particularly disappointing & the fried chicken skin made us nauseous. The kimchi soup with rice noodles tasted good thoughView more
Nabe Nouilles de Riz Yunnan
Nabe is a small restaurant in Chinatown that specializes in Yunnan rice noodles. I've often avoided reviewing Yunnan rice noodle restaurants because in my opinion, many of them don't differentiate themselves. Nabe deserves a special honour.
I got the Classic Soup with Sliced Pork. As one of their cheapest dishes, I honestly wasn't expecting much, but this dish stood out to me. The noodles were pretty standard rice noodles, but the broth was significantly more rich & creamy than I was expecting. The ingredients were also quite generous, with a whole collection including pork slices, vegetables, mushrooms, tofu etc that made for a great meal. I will admit however I found it a little weird eating normal sausage in this compared to Chinese sausage, but it didn't take away from the dish too much. Note that there are no noodle refills (that I was aware of).
Overall, great food & would recommend! Only big suggestion I have is: please switch to reuseable cups instead of using wasteful plastic cups. It's not like the bowls or spoons are disposable so there's no real excuse for using plastic cups.
