C'est joli mais malheureusement un peu décevant en bouche.. on ne s'y est pas tellement retrouvé niveau qualité prix.

Bonne petite place à onigiris. Rien de bien palpitant, mais respectable outre mesure. Bonne bière en bonus. Les onigiris sont joliment confectionnés. Mais ils sont plus petits que ce que je suis habitués. C'était bien.

Cette journée, nous nous sommes amusés à goûter des onigris de différents endroits. Ceux de Musubi valent le déplacement. L'équilibre entre la garniture & le riz est parfait. L'onigiri au poulet se démarque par son originalité & révèle des saveurs étonnamment plaisantes. Nous avons aussi goûté à la yuzunade. C'est une boisson surprenante, subtilement sucrée & extrêmement rafraîchissante. Une belle découverte que je n'hésiterai pas à savourer à nouveau avec plaisir. Le propriétaire de Musubi est fort sympathique & il prend le temps de nous guider dans nos choix. Je recommande fortement!

J'ai découvert le comptoir Musubi lors d'une visite au Marché. J'ai été agréablement surpris & conquis par l'IPA de la microbrasserie Avant-garde, conseillé par le propriétaire.
J'ai aussi essayé plusieurs de leurs onigiris & j'adore celui au thon épicé! Leur équipe m'ont donné un service impeccable & le propriétaire sait réellement leur transmettre sa passion!

Been going there several times since summer 2024! I love the little decorations they've put onto their shop!One of my to-go spot to eat at before going to work! Whenever I'm craving of authentic onigiri, this is the place I go at whenever I'm in the area 😋🍙 My favorite onigiri is their limited time fresh lobster 'homard' 🦞 & you can't find it anywhere else in Montreal that's for sure 🙈
Excellent service, family business place (husband & wife), portion ratio between the rice & filling is perfect to me ! I always order 1 to 4 onigiris since it's not too heavy meal for me 🍙🍙🍙🍙 Desserts & drinks there are always so deliciousss but always forgot to take pictures of it I tend to eat it like immediately & realize it after I ate it The owners are friendly & always answer to all my questions / it's always fun chatting with them 🥰

Service très gentil, le meilleur ichigo daifuku que j'ai mangé en dehors du Japon, mais la quantité d'homard dans l'onigiri aurait pu être plus généreuse. Je recommande cet endroit & reviendrai en espérant que les onigiris normaux contiendront plus de remplissage que les spéciaux.

One might not expect to find an authentic Japanese Izakaya / onigiri shop in the Jean-Talon Market, yet interestingly, this is their second season doing business at the popular open air market. Undoubtedly, worth stopping by to try their creations; especially things like their fresh cracker lobster & the newest menu item a snow crab onigiri - with its touch of mayo & black pepper. This rare specialty has just the right balance of oceanic essence, culinary delicacy & subtle seafood texture.
Good news, they now have an alcohol license & this flavour combination married well with their draft lager - a hint of rice wine at the offset.
Finishing off with a local strawberry mochi dessert is always in order or perhaps their onigiri of the week which happened to be made with ample fresh asparagus - if you like savoury desserts.
Kudos to their hard working team serving the hungry yet happy & upbeat market crowd.

Super cute & tasty Japanese food stall! This quiet little booth can easily get lost in the chaos of the Jean-Talon Market, but it's a wonderful little hidden gem. The owner is incredibly sweet, & they have a lovely variety of onigiri & dango. I got their découverte combo, which comes with 2 onigiri & 1 dango mochi. I settled on the ajitama (soft boiled egg) & salmon, both of which were delightful - the salmon was super tender & had just a touch of Japanese mayo, which helped to make it even more moist while adding a hint of sweetness, acidity, & salt. The ajitama had a gorgeous jammy yolk & packed a huge punch of umami flavor. Both had a solid ratio of filling to rice, & it was quite a flavorful, filling $15 portion, but not so filling that it would prevent you from trying other things in the market. My only potential critique is that the soy sauce glaze they use on top is quite salty; it's delicious, but it makes the first bite extremely salty & the rest of the onigiri a tiny bit bland.
The dango was also delicious - super fresh, chewy, springy mochi with a lovely earthiness from the mugwort. I loved the red bean, & it was a delightful sweet treat to round out the combo.
