I loved this spot. Beware that there are steep stairs.
My first poutine in Canada. It was what I expected. It went well with the Sterling Chardonnay on the menu.
We enjoyed the smoked meat sandwich also. We split two plates, had a pop & 9oz wine.

We stumbled upon this gem along our walk today in the old port. The portions are massive. We are a bit of poutine snobs & this poutine is top!! The fries are perfectly crispy & the cheese is fresh. Portions are massive & price is reasonable. The smoked meat sandwich was also delish! A great spot for a quick bite without breaking the bank.View more

I don't typically like coleslaw, but this was the coleslaw I ever had. My partner also really liked the smoked meat poutine - he had poutine every day we were in Canada & this one was his favorite. (My grilled chicken sandwich was only okay )View more

On peut se douter de la qualité dans un quartier touristique, mais quand même ... J'ai commandé une assiette de smoked meat à 22 dollars, je ne m'attendais pas à ce que ce soit le sandwich à 12 dollar + 10 dollar pour avoir des frites & un bout de chou en plus, je pensais avoir une vrai assiette de smoked meat (& franchement pas mauvaise mais pas incroyable). Au Swartz c'est moins cher, bien plus généreux & terriblement meilleur. Ah pis la poutine même pas du fromage en grain, ça faisait des fils. Une amie a commandé limonade au début du repas, elle a été servi quand on était prêt à partir. On a demandé un couteau au début du repas, jamais donné. Les serveuses n'étaient pas méchante, mais je pense qu'ils sont soit en sous-effectif, soit à la ramasse. Ah oui y a même pas de carafe d'eau dans ce resto... remplissez votre gourde dans une des fontaines gratuite à côté avant d'y alleView more

Restaurant en terasse sympa . Jolie décors. La poutine est bonne & généreuse mais pour l assiette smoked meat c'est vraiment décevant. (Un petit sandwich avec du smoked meat & derrière beaucoup trop de frite pour remplir l'assiette. ) Attention l'Eau est payante !!!( le seul qu'on a fais en 14 jours !!) Les serveuses sont sympas mais Manque un peu la langue du pays en les écoutants. Un choix large de cocktail .View more

Funky old building. For a place with poutine in the title, it was quite meh. & expensive for our meal vs the quality. Smoked meat sandwich tasted okay but it was very small for the price. Hot dog was just a steamer but on a nice bun. Poutine portions were good, but the taste wasn't great.View more

NO TAP WATER served, shame on the owners, this is supposed to be a family restaurant, not a high end bar I should have read the reviews carefully, I didn't think poutine would be at risk of tasting bland or a shop specializing in it would turn out a poor version. FRIED onions apparently means wet onions as per my picture. The Montreal smoked meat sandwich looked pathetic, I could put out a better version getting my ingredients from Safeway in BC... I'd be okay with all this if the prices were cheap but they're definitely not especially when it's $4 for a 500ml of Esker water.View more

First order of business when in Montreal. Because it's pouring & there's no line here, & it's poutine. To our surprise, the food came out delicious & full of flavors (not sure why the rating is low). Service was quick & the servers were very helpful with their recommendations & friendly. Vraiment mignon comme endroit! Ambiance typique du vieux Montréal avec une cour intérieure spectaculaire entourée de murs de pierre. L'endroit était bondé en ce samedi soir de juillet 19:00. Tous le personnel était extrêmement gentil, souriant & serviable. Un serveur nous a trouvé une table à l'étage près d'une fenêtre, avec une jolie vue sur la rue St-Paul. Le menu est simple & c'est ce que nous cherchions: 2 bières en fût bien froides "Blanche de Chambly," une assiette de smoke meat pour ma mère (sandwich, frites croustillantes & salade de choux,) puis pour moi la salade césar avec lanières de poulet croustillants. Nous avons été servies dans des délais très raisonnables, 15-20 minutes, avec notre bière pour patienter. Notre facture finale s'est élevée à $78, ou $90 avec un pourboire de 15%. Bref, une sortie divertissante. Je recommande cet endroit pour le dépaysement... La nuit tombée, un projecteur dans la fenêtre du 2ème étage projette un film de Charlie Chaplin sur le mur de pierre pour les gens assis sur la terrasse! Bref, aussi bien manger un repas simple dans un câdre enchanteur, qu'une cuisine plus fine sur n'importe quelle terrasse ordinaire, au service lent & médiocre pour le double du prix!View more

My hubby & I split the smoked meat sandwich with the poutine & it did not disappoint. Our server was young, sweet, & very pleasant. It was a big portion. The atmosphere was great, music not too loud like most places. I would go here again.View more

The smoked meat poutine was tasty, the smoked meat sandwich was kind of small. The service was very disappointing. I asked for a glass of water & they said they only had bottled water for $4, but when we ordered cans of soda, they brought glasses with ice, you couldn't have filled that with tap water for free? We all ordered food. Then they said it would take 20 minutes for the food to arrive, took more like 30, there was gravy all over the sides of the poutine, the server stuck his thumb in plate, & we were never brought cutlery or napkins. In a lively neighboirhood, sitting in their outside patio is a great choice, it's beautiful & tucked away from the street. Smoked meat sandwich is great tasting but smaller than what you would expect. Fries are nice & crispy. Service was a bit strange, had to request napkins, cutlery, etc, one would assume that would just be set up for us at the table.View more

The place was really cool & my poutine was pretty good. My issue was with the service. The other servers were kind & very accomodating. Unfortunately the server we were given was rude the entire time & made one person at our table cry with how disrespectfully she spoke. Also, the sandwich portion size is tiny for the price & they charged 4 dollars for water.View more
