I loved this spot. Beware that there are steep stairs.
My first poutine in Canada. It was what I expected. It went well with the Sterling Chardonnay on the menu.
We enjoyed the smoked meat sandwich also. We split two plates, had a pop & 9oz wine.
Tasty gravy!View more
Poutine was not good (fries were cold, gravy was unseasoned) & the service was terrible. We had to ask for water three times. We were never checked on during our meal, literally had to keep flagging down the hostess to come to our table & find our waiter. Way overpriced for the quality of the food - Modavie is down the street & has much better poutine for half the price!View more
We've been trying different poutines across Montreal & Quebec City, so we opted to try this one, sitting in the heart of Old Montreal city. We chose to sit indoors instead of the patio as the sun was heavy & hot that day. We ordered one ($15.99) to share with two drinks. A peach juice & a blue raspberry slushie. ($35 taxes included) The poutine was meh average, nothing special & not at all a show stopper to write home about. The gravy tasted the same as Harvey's poutine. Yes, I'm not proud that I'm comparing to Harvey's gravy but Yes, I'm dead serious! The peach juice was nice & refreshing, but the slushie had a DEAD BEE crushed with the ice!! It was absolutely disgusting to find AFTER my guest finished her drink!! All they did was remove the drink from the bill & apologized. The wooden tables & chairs & dining space in the upstairs dinette was cozy & nice bright from the sun.View more
Got a beer & the Poutine. Poutine was very delicious! The gravy was overflowing from the sides though so it does get messy!.View more
Crispy fries, rich gravy, & gooey cheese curds are a match made in heaven. Friendly staff & a laid-back atmosphere make it a must-visit for poutine lovers.View more
The smoked meat poutine was tasty, the smoked meat sandwich was kind of small. The service was very disappointing. I asked for a glass of water & they said they only had bottled water for $4, but when we ordered cans of soda, they brought glasses with ice, you couldn't have filled that with tap water for free? We all ordered food. Then they said it would take 20 minutes for the food to arrive, took more like 30, there was gravy all over the sides of the poutine, the server stuck his thumb in plate, & we were never brought cutlery or napkins. I had to help myself to those. Skip the dishes, or skip altogetheView more
The Poutine gravy is good, but the fries are little bit over cook, you can taste bitter, quite disappointed because they label themselves first in poutine. Hot dog is normal, not bad!! Service are good, environment is classic!! There is a very funny thing is the air conditioning system hanging on the second floor wall outside keep making very noisy sound & shaking like going to drop down immediately, hahaha.View more
The gravy was tasty. I recommend the hot dog tooView more
By sheer coincidence, we stumbled upon this poutine restaurant (which also serves alcohol). While wandering in Old Montreal, we decided to take a break here. We ordered two beers & a poutine to share, & it was absolutely delicious! The fries, coated in gravy, remained crispy, & combined with the cheese curds, it was divine. The service was also excellent; everyone was prompt & friendly. I believe they deserve even higher praise for their food & service. However, the beer prices might be a tad high, but still manageable. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Montreal.View more
Waiter was great, location was nice with a nice view of the street, not much atmosphere but ok. Food was ....ok, mine was very cold on top, warm in middle & hot at the bottom which ends up cold by time you get to it. The flavour was nice tho just need to work on how they heat it. Might have just been unlucky. Considering the price for some chips with gravy on it should be better.View more
Beautiful place to have your first poutine experience. Not many gluten-free options, but our waitress was beyond kind & suggested their fried onion poutine without gravy, & we were incredibly satisfied! Creative, caring, & delicious. Oh, & amazing locally brewed beer! Will return!View more
This places says it all. If you're looking for authentic Montreal poutine this place is the way to go. The gravy is rich & portions are really big.View more
Not sure why all the negative reviews.. maybe service was poor but we did not experience that. Seated within 2 minutes.. attentive staff bringing out delicious poutine. So good that we had to re-order for more. Their gravy is vegan so thats great since we had a vegetarian in the party. A little on the expensive side though.
I still think about this Poutine.. its been more than a week :)View more
Had a wonderful experience here last saturday night. You walk into the open air space & it is stunning. The tree, the bar - gorgeous.
We had the best poutine of our trip here & my goodness it was flavorful. The cheese chunks were so delicious & don't get me started on the flavor of the gravy. It was a "lighter" sauce that wasn't thick so it didn't weigh everything down & overfill you. It perfectly complimented the food without getting it soggy.
Our server, Tao (I hope I spelled it right!) was extremely friendly & courteous. The bartender, Ava, made one of the, if not THE best Long Island I've ever had (& I make them at my own bar all the time :") ) I got to speak with her briefly about the bar & drinks & she was also very friendly even though they were closing.
Overall it was a great experience in every way. The staff, the environment, the quality of the food: A+View more
