Legit poutine! That hot gravy made it so delicious. It's a hole in the wall & that's what makes it worth visitingView more
Great fast service.
Prices were unbeatable.
Food was so dam good.
Full load dogs are delish & the poutine is killer good.
Place was clean & staff was friendly.
Neighborhood was a bit gritty but made for a better wander to the place.View more
Delicious food. The best poutine that I have ever tastedView more
Hands down best poutine I've ever had. So good we had to get a second in less than 24 hours.View more
Quelques dollars suffisent pour me rassasier & poursuivre ma route !View more
Awesome counter restaurant for delicious, authentic steamies (hotdogs), poutine, fries, etc., in a historic restaurant, in a historic part of town. Highly recommended for tourists & locals alike.View more
Great, comforting establishment. Super affordable food, great for late nights. Poutine here is perfectly done with the cheese at the right melting point with the gravy.View more
Montreal native & decided to head to Montreal Pool Room for the first time. It is expensive. Portions for poutine were disappointing. They're large (12.99$) is more of less the size of a small at La Belle Province. A drink how dog & poutine set me back almost 20$. I'd skip it if you have the chance & find another Casse Croûte because it's not worth the money.View more
View more
Montreal Pool Room: A Legendary Experience My visit to the Pool Room was an unforgettable one. The poutine was the best I've ever had, the fries were perfectly crispy, the gravy was like nothing I've tasted before - authentic & delicious. Their all-dressed steamy hotdogs were like a hug from within, with perfectly buttered buns & fresh garnishes. Family ran & operated, The restaurant's history is impressive - it's been around for over a hundred years! I can't wait to go back for more poutine🍁View more
Decent classic style of poutine, made just how it should be with lots of gravy & cheese curds. Ordered their steamed hot dogs which were just okay. Good place to get quick poutine if you have a craving.View more
The poutine was awesome & so were the delish hot dogs. It's a landmark that's been there for close to if not over 100 years, so it's clear that the food has stood the test of time. If you reminisce about the Old Montréal taste of poutine & steamed hotdogs, then that's the place to be.View more
If you like italian poutine...this is the spot, their meat sauce is just perfect. Not a fan of the cash only policy though...but great fries, generous portion of cheese. If you need a late night dirty snack, its going to deliveView more
The poutine was delectable, gravy & cheesy sauce over fresh, thick cuts of just-fried fries. Patient staff, well-managed (especially to the clueless tourists in front of me). Poutines & fries come in small & large sizes: shareable. Popular with locals & us foreigners. Burgers & hot dogs a staple too. Fun, casual, bus your own tray. Nice spot on the epic Saint Laurent Avenue.View more
Sait la place pour bien mange8 la meilleure Poutine dans tout MontréalView more
Decent burger, awful poutine. Good service, but stay away from the poutineView more
The poutine is worth it all!! It's a hole in the wall in a colorful (seedyish, former red light area) part of Montreal, but the poutine is all that! Perfect fries, melty cheese curds, great gravy. The hotdogs are just plain dogs, but the steamed buns were delicious & the slaw on top rounded it all out. Yes, I was sober as a church mouse. (This place is a popular late night spot. ) It is cash only. They've been in business for over a hundred years & I'm sure it's because of the poutine. It's a dive, & there are no pool tables. It's just a great experience!View more
Propreté un peu à désirer. Hot dog & poutine délicieux 😋View more
What can I say other than it is a must visit when in the area, & there are so many great stops to eat at in Montreal.
This greasy spoon does delight, I had the steamed dog w/onions, poutine & a pop.
The dog was good but my brothers looked better (toasted), it was my brother who insisted we come. I chose steamed because that’s how I grew up ordering, from the old La Scala on Papineau (circa 1976).
I also had the standard poutine & it did not disappoint. I inhaled it & to my surprise, I was not clutching my chest for the next four hours! Good ingredients.
If you do not go to Schwartz’s, come here, there is no pool table, eat standing & you can then truly say that you visited a Montreal institution.View more
La meilleure poutine! Un monument montréalais qui a fait ses preuves. La salle à manger est petite, mais l'ambiance kitsch & vintage est superbe! Je ne peut que recommander.View more
One of the best late night poutines you can get. Steamies are on point too.View more
