They're known for the pekin duck combo, general tao chicken & salt & pepper shrimp or squid. I ate there for many years & the staff is very friendly. They have alcohol & other seafood such as lobsters, oysters & scallops (seasonal). It accommodates children & adults around a big table up to 11 to 13 people with the classic spinning top to allow you to pick the topping & dish that you like. This is a family & friends restaurant & perfect for people who like to share a variety of foods from sweet, sour, salty or spicy!View more
I love monan im addicted to their salt & pepper shrimp its one of my go to's I always come back for it. Their tom yum soup is amazing & so is their ginger lobster. I just tried their fried dumplings & also enjoyed them. Shout out to the owner Joe, such a cool guy! I recommend!View more
By far the best Chinese restaurant of Montreal! The food is tasty & well proportioned. The chow mein is heaven as well as the fried salt & pepper shrimp. The general Tao is sweet but not very crunchy. This time we ordered but from recent past experiences the place is clean & the staff is efficient & quick to serve your meal. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good spot for Chinese cuisine.View more
I have gone to that restaurant & ordered from them for the past 15 years, best Chinese restaurant hands down, so many choices, but my favourites are the salt &
Pepper shrimps, the ginger lobster, & the shrimp toasts ! Never disappointed!!View more
Honestly it's my favorite Chinese resto in Montreal. Haven't had a bad dish. Particular favorites are the scallop fried rice, salt & pepper pork chops, Cantonese chow mein, & the razor clams when in seasonView more
I recently went here for my birthday & I won't lie; it was mostly because it was one of few options open late after a show. However, what we found was excellent Chinese Canadian fare, (as salty, sweet, sticky & satisfying as you like; don't expect too fancy here, this is comforting & down to earth). In particular; the salt & pepper squid & Mapo tofu were absolutely to die for. More so than this, our waitress was an absolute gem: & this was the truly the best part of our experience. The food was great but the service was incredible in that she was friendly, hilarious & helpful. Would go back to this 30+ year old Chinatown institution in a heartbeat!View more
Best salt & pepper calamari! We were a group of 4 people & went early, right around opening time so the service was excellent & friendly. It's best enjoyed as a group since you can order multiple dishes & share. Every time I go, i dream of coming back, it's that good!View more
Great staple of Chinatown. Even if I visit this place only once a year, I'm always looking forward to my visit. The duck is a must. You have to try the salt & pepper tofu (EXTREMELY addictive) & enjoy the jasmine tea served with the meal.View more
Mon Nan is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant! The service is consistently amazing-staff are always friendly, attentive, & make you feel right at home. The food is simply outstanding, with each dish bursting with flavor & cooked to perfection. Whether you're craving classic favorites or something new, Mon Nan never disappoints. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience! Don't forget to try their salt & pepper shrimps 😊View more
WOW! Awesome traditional Chinese restaurant nice vibe great variety of dishes strongly recommend the salt & pepper squidView more
We stop by at Mon Nan & had a very quick supper. We ordered wonton soup, salt & pepper porkchops, friedrice & coke. I was so full as i ate more of the pork & the rice is heavy as it is too oily. It wasn't that good, but not bad either. Probably it also depends on the food that is being ordered. Anyways we took the leftover food & gave it away.View more
What can I say, a lot of people came here to have dinner, it is clear that the restaurant is popular, because as I understand it, it is very old, but the cuisine is very, very standard, like in all Chinese restaurants. Nothing special The only thing I liked was shrimp in salt & pepper, unfortunately. service: when we finished eating we were repeatedly made to understand that it was time for us to leave so that we could make room, naturally, I felt uncomfortable, I give three stars & I'm unlikely to come again🤷🏻♂️View more
The Good: - Authentic delicious Chinese menu - The salt & pepper shrimps are an absolute must. Shrimps were fried to the right temperature & they're perfectly crispy - The vegetarian spring rolls were super delicious & has the right thickness with a nice crispness to them with a very balanced filling The Not So Good: - General tao was dunked in super thick super sweet sauce & the chicken was over fried -View more
My new go-to place for Chinese. Fortunate that I can get it on Uber Eats whenever we need. Shrimp toast, shrimp peanut dumplings, Cantonese chow mein, spare ribs, general tao chicken, pineapple chicken, Mongolian beef, vegetable fried rice, egg rolls, salt & pepper shrimp - all classics. A1+++View more
Simply a crowd pleaser & always hit the spot. Been going to Mon Nan for years to get my fix for Chinese food & it never disappoints. The place is clean & the food is great. The sweet & sour chicken is good, the salt & pepper shrimp is my utmost favorite & their lo mein is spot on. I also recommend the orange beef & the sesame beef, they are slightly on the sweeter side, but a must try nevertheless. Also the corn & chicken soup is a like a warm hug on a cold day.View more

I am so picky when it comes to anything consider as asian food.
Everytime I come here I enjoy my self & the food.
I've had salt & pepper chicken that was perfectly fried, the chicken chow mein is my favourite i've also had the ginger lobster, beef broccoli, chicken fried rice, egg rolls everything was good so far !!
It's not a very nice place but it's a place with good food. Bathroom's are a disaster waiter's are mostly friendly . If you go on a weekend night place will most likely be packed especially after club hours !!
Prices are fair as well !
