Located in Montreal's Chinatown, Mon Nan Village a discrete restaurant that's easy to miss unless you know where to look. The restaurant offers some of the best pan-fried dumplings, Peking duck and General Tao chicken in town. The dumplings are just a small part of an extensive Dim Sum selection that can be ordered from the daytime menu. One of my go-to places for sure! I love everything they have on their menu & I always ask the person taking our order what they recommend. One of the best places so far. Even when you order food to go it's good, but not as good as it is in the restaurant.
Service is really good & orders come out fast :)
Make sure you order the shrimp on toast (precise that it's the one flat open on top of the toast). & always listen to their recommendations!!View more

I love monan im addicted to their salt & pepper shrimp its one of my go to's I always come back for it. Their tom yum soup is amazing & so is their ginger lobster. I just tried their fried dumplings & also enjoyed them. Shout out to the owner Joe, such a cool guy! I recommend!View more

By far the best Chinese restaurant of Montreal! The food is tasty & well proportioned. The chow mein is heaven as well as the fried salt & pepper shrimp. The general Tao is sweet but not very crunchy. This time we ordered but from recent past experiences the place is clean & the staff is efficient & quick to serve your meal. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good spot for Chinese cuisine.View more

Wow what a gem this place is. First off, the server Betty was so welcoming & funny. Then the canto food was amazing. Not enough people know about this place. Food was soooo fast, but so fresh too. We ate family style which is the best to eat at a restaurant. We ordered hot & sour soup, Mongolian beef, sweet & sour pork, shrimp fried rice, soup dumplings & black bean beef. Very reasonably priced! Shared between 6 people & worked out to be 22.50$ a person including tip! All were delicious. The fried rice had a beautiful smokiness from the wok. But the star of the show was the Mongolian beef. Perfectly crispy with the perfect about of sauce. Highly recommend & we will definitely be back when we visit Montreal again.View more

I highly recommend Restaurant Mon Nan to anyone who enjoys delicious Asian food at a reasonable price! They did not hesitate to accommodate a last-minute reservation request for our group of 19, & made sure we were all well taken care of. The restaurant's dining area features larger round tables with a central lazy-Susan to facilitate conversation & meal-sharing. The place was nice & lit up & the service was okay, but we came towards the time it was closing so the waiters were probably tired & ready to go home. The food was really good & we were very satisfied. Though one thing that was a bit off was that when I ordered the wonton soup, the soup was good but the wonton tasted like soggy dough, but I totally recommend the shrimp dumplings! Simply a crowd pleaser & always hit the spot. Been going to Mon Nan for years to get my fix for Chinese food & it never disappoints. The place is clean & the food is great. The sweet & sour chicken is good, the salt & pepper shrimp is my utmost favorite & their lo mein is spot on. I also recommend the orange beef & the sesame beef, they are slightly on the sweeter side, but a must try nevertheless. Also the corn & chicken soup is a like a warm hug on a cold day.View more
