Nous y sommes allés pour célébrer notre 9e anniversaire le 7 février dernier. Ça faisait longtemps qu'on en entendait parler & nous avions très hâte d'enfin pouvoir l'essayer. Or, nous avons été terriblement déçu par notre expérience.
Les plats étaient bons mais relativement cher pour leur exécution. Nous avions également commandé le canard qui s'est avéré impossible à mastiquer au point de ne pas finir l'assiette qui était la plus cher de notre commande.
Les cocktails étaient toutefois assez bons, le services courtois mais malheureusement lent, plusieurs des plats sont arrivés tous en même temps & nous nous sommes retrouvés avec verres & assiettes vides pendant une bonne partie de notre souper.
Gros coup de coeur pour le dessert, le gâteau au fromage avec le Louis d'Or était incroyable. Un petit plus aussi pour notre serveur qui nous a offert des shooters pour terminer la soirée.
Mais, malgré ceci, malheureusement je ne recommanderais pas ni n'y retournerais, surtout pour un bill de 380$ qui nous a grandement laissé sur notre faim.
My date surprised me coming here & the whole team here was incredibly welcoming & warm. We had the best service from the team here on a Wednesday night. The food was impeccable. It was explained to perfection by Benjamin & the drinks were just as incredible. I had two cocktails off the menu as well as a dessert drink off menu. Everything was absolutely amazing! I will 100% be coming back! Thank you Hector, Francois, Benjamin, Gia, & the chefs working!! ✨

Benjamin, Gia, & Hector gave me & my beautiful date the most amazing experience. Shout out Damian & François for recommending to visit, amazing food, service, & cocktails. I have no photos to share as I could not put a fork down for long enough to pick up my phone.
10/10 experience. The service was outstanding. Cocktails the best I've had in mtl. The cod was perfectly cooked in a buttery broth. The oxtail cannoli was also perfection. The place itself was well designed & cozy.
Le Molenne ne déçoit jamais! Les saveurs retrouvées dans les différents plats sont incroyables. Les couteaux de mer sont délicieux. L'entrée de crudo de pétoncles est succulente. Le pairage avec les framboises rehausse le goût du pétoncle. Quelle belle idée! Le plat de truite arc-en-ciel & les cavatellis sont très goûteux. Les suggestions de Miro pour les vins & les cocktails étaient parfaites. Je serai de retour!
We had to wait about an hour for our table, but the staff gave us a nice spot to stand & enjoy a cocktail while we waited, so it wasn't a big deal given the great atmosphere. The staff were friendly & welcoming, & the food was absolutely delicious. Even the cod, which I don't usually love, was incredible
Nous avons passé une agréable soirée. La nourriture était exceptionnelle, toutefois les quantités étaient très petites (à partager ou pas). Malheureusement, nous avons eu un service très décevant. Nous avons attendu plus de 45 min avant d'avoir un cocktail ou verre de vin. Nous étions en semaine & le restaurant n'était pas plein. Les assiettes ont été servi même avant d'avoir l'apéro. Nous nous sommes sentis, à 2 reprises, fortement recommandés de prendre 1 ou 2 assiettes supplémentaires…
Autrement, bravo au chef & à son équipe en cuisine & félicitations pour les choix locaux.

Cocktails were pure craftsmanship, service on point by one of the owner & amazing bites from the seafood to the mains. 10/10 would go again & special s/o to the lamb dish because it was outstanding.
I am not a fan of seafood usually but decided to give this place a try after a few days in Montreal. What a delightful experience! My parents were visiting & we randomly ended up here, but were so pleased with the whole place. The service was incredible! The drinks were fantastic- & nevermind the mushroom cod! Totally recommend if you're in the area! The Mile-End with a view cocktail is definitely the best in the menu!
Ca fait déjà plusieurs fois que je me rend au Molenne. C'est mon top 3 des restaurants à MTL. Ayant la culture des fruits de mer très à coeur en raison de mes origines Acadiennes, je n'ai jamais été déçu. L'equipe est insane, le service est impeccable & il y une bonne vibe dans celle-ci qui donne presque le gout d'y travailler. Pour la qualité & la fraîcheur des aliments, la variété des vins, cocktails & diversité du menu. Un 5 étoile est sous estimé le Molenne.

Molenne Fantastic seafood-oriented restaurant in Mile End
Visited on a recent busy Saturday night. Serving staff were in demand, but always available & we never felt rushed.
While décor (classic bistro with some local flourish) & service are great, the food is incredible. Standouts to me were the scallop crudo (with raspberries!), the razor clams - which were cooked in beer, & the cavatelli with mussels. While seafood is the star, the PEI steak was cooked to simple perfection & the Lamb Brick was a delicious take on'pulled' meat.
Rounding things out were inventive cocktails (savory Tomato Highball - my choice) & a beyond the usual wine list. Very accessible with a little consult of the sommelier.
All in a great restaurant that stands out in a city full of them.

Amazing experience all around. The food was out of this world. It was all so fresh, prepared & was plated meticulously. The cocktails I had were all very good, & the wine list was massive with so many options. The environment of the restaurant is very vibey. The staff were all very kind, knowledgeable, attentive & very well mannered. Overall, eating here was an amazing experience & I cannot recommend it enough!
If you're a seafood lover, Molenne is a must-visit. Every dish reflects thought, creativity, & a true passion for flavor. I love discovering new ingredients & unexpected pairings - & this place absolutely delivered. The cocktails were just as impressive, & the wine list offered unique selections by the glass, allowing me to try perfect pairings throughout the meal.
I even got to learn the story behind the restaurant's name - a thoughtful detail that made the experience even more special. Be sure to ask when you visit Molenne ;)
Visited Molenne for a family dinner & it was amazing! A great vegetarian tasting menu, lovely staff & a great atmosphere. Cocktails were also delicious. Will definitely be going again the next time I'm in Montreal!

Beautiful atmosphere! The staff was knowledgeable & attentive. Seafood was all incredibly fresh & well prepared. Cocktails were unique & delicious! Highly recommend!
Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre visite d'il y a quelques jours. Bon choix de fruits de mer frais, excellents cocktails & belle carte des vins raisonnable. À essayer! Nous y retournerons.
Joli resto aux airs de bistros européens. De bonnes assiettes joliment présentées, mais chères. Je vous suggère les cocktails ou le vin à la bouteille puisque malheureusement, les vins au verre ne sont pas très bons.
Le design de la salle est magnifique & l'ambiance est décontractée & conviviale. Le resto est relativement bruyant, mais c'est normal avec la disposition rapprochée des tables. Les cocktails étaient à la hauteur & les plats simples, mais le goût était au rendez-vous. Mention spéciale aux couteaux & à la morue charbonnière & son délicieux bouillon de shiitake. Malheureusement, le service était très laborieux. Nous avons été bien accueilli & la table était prête. Une fois assis, il a fallu 25 minutes avant que la serveuse vienne prendre nôtre commande de cocktails. Lorsque j'ai demandé de commander le crudo d'hamachi & les couteaux avec le cocktail, elle m'a répondu qu'elle allait revenir pour la commande complète en une seule fois. Nous n'avons eu aucune description des plats ni recommandations. Je pense malheureusement que le service n'était pas à la hauteur de la qualité des plats.
Quelle belle soirée on a passée! Service sympathique & chaleureux. Excellents plats, des cocktails inspirés & une carte des vins pour tous les goûts & budgets. Bonne ambiance & bel espace.
J'adopte le Molenne comme mon nouveau resto de quartier. Il coche toutes les cases! Je m'y vois très bien célébrer un événement festif entre amis un samedi soir qu'y manger seule au comptoir un lundi midi.
