This may be a nice looking restaurant that caters to a new clientele but has zero relevance to the great restaurant Moishes was for 80-years at its original location. The feel & the food have changed generally for the worse. Reading reviews, this is now catered to tourists in old Montreal & the local business community. The new owners tried to elevate it to the point that they've ruined it. Moishes was forever known as a Jewish style steakhouse with its flavours & iconic dishes to match. It seems that all that remains is the Monte Carlo potato & the shish kebab all at double the price, but nothing else. I would have paid 4x to enjoy the food & experience it once was but that ship has sailed. To describe this meal, 2 of 4 steaks were completely the wrong temperature & reluctantly needed to be sent back, the branzino sat above a gritty pesto & the special chicken tasted oddly sweet. We were forewarned by friends & family that they've tried it once & some twice & all swore to never return. What a shame that we've lost a piece of our heritage & are left with a completely different restaurant that has lost the ambiance & taste of its former self alienating its very loyal clientele. Maybe Sportscene should ask itself why they can't fill the tables the way the former incarnation did.

Weird but I am sure I posted a review but for some reason I do not see it! Since this place ambiance, staff & friendly not over the top but with a very nice welcoming feeling. All the staff were very helpful & help us make so smart choices for food & wine! Worth every penny spent. Should of tried sooner! Must go. Even if you are a steak lover you will find something that surely will please your tastebuds.
Splendid restaurant. The service was perfect, very professional. Unfortunately the steak I ordered , the New York strip 10 oz, was not great, a bit too cooked & particularly hard.

My recent dining experience at Moishes in Montreal was less than satisfactory, despite a few highlights. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted by the staff, & the ambiance of the restaurant was truly exceptional. The atmosphere was incredible, contributing to an initially promising evening Although it was not a particularly busy night, our seating arrangement was less than ideal. Our party of five was placed at a standard table, despite several empty circular tables behind us that remained unoccupied throughout our meal. This decision detracted from our comfort & overall experience. Service was disappointingly slow, & we did not have the benefit of a consistent server. The constant change in servers contributed to a sense of disorganization. It took a full twenty minutes after being seated before our food order was taken. Additionally, our drinks always seemed to take an unusually long time to arrive. When our main courses were eventually brought to the table, there was another oversight: no steak knives were provided. Three of us had to wait for ten minutes, while our food cooled, before we could properly enjoy our meals. This was particularly frustrating. As for the food itself, it was a mixed experience. I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon, which unfortunately was tough & chewy, far from the tender cut I had anticipated. The Monte Carlo potato was overly salty. However, the mushrooms were delicious, the wild grilled shrimp were excellent, & the steak tartare was a standout dish. Our group found the meals generally satisfactory but, having dined at establishments like Gibby's & Ruth's Chris, we felt the food & service did not live up to the hype or our expectations. Additionally, we noticed that the table next to us also experienced poor service. It was someone's birthday, & their dessert order was forgotten. Although the dessert was eventually comped, no apology was offered, which only compounded the negative impression. In summary, while the initial welcome & certain dishes were highlights, the overall service & inconsistent quality of the food at Moishes left much to be desired. For a restaurant of its reputation, the experience did not meet our expectations.
The restaurant was only 1/4 full when we (2 couples) entered at 7:00 pm & we were surprised for a quiet Friday night. We ordered drinks which took a while for a quiet restaurant to arrive. We ordered oysters & the presentation was excellent with 3 sauces & freshly grated horseradish. The wine also took long (a 2017 Oregon Renaissance @$225) & the cold bottle sat on the table for more than 10 minutes waiting to be decanted. Both couples returned their overcooked steaks & we ate our fries ($14) & Monte Carlo potato ($14) while we waited 15 for new plates. Moishe's comped a fried onion plate which arrived before the steaks. Service was slow & awkward at best. Restaurant filled up & the tables were so close together that it was very noisy for a high-end steakhouse. Big prices, no Chopped Liver, no Varenikas, no Latkes, none of the old Moishe's dishes that made Moishe's what it was. Overall very disappointing.... Best value? The $23 Valet Parking was excellent!!
First time here since they reopened First thing I want to say , Our server MOMEN was amazing , the problem is with the other service staff that doesn't listen or pay attention to you !!!! Why do I have to wait for my waiter to ask something when there's another waiter passing by !! The food is very good & the terrace is the best place to hangout now

We had a great dinner at moishes , we were regulars at the older one on St Laurent so we could compare. we had a friend from out of town staying at the W so we decided to give it a try & we were very happy we did. The greeting by the hostess who was all smile was fantastic. Florence our server was great at her job & knew her wines on the list & made great suggestions. the food is amazing & very tasty. we will come back without hesitation.
We had such a wonderful afternoon, our waiter Jean-Luc was so professional & funny at the same time, we had the oysters & champagne package, everything was lovely!
Food was good. Service was terrible. They never served us dessert or coffee. They didn't care either. Pathetic. So sad to see what used to be such a good spot not be able to do the simple things.
