A charming and quaint italian restaurant in the Villeray neighbourhood where the atmosphere is joyful and homy. The homemade pasta-focused menu changes seasonally as it highlights the freshest ingredients available. At the head of the kitchen, Luca Cianciulli offers a very italo-montrealer menu based on quality of ingredients, as does true italian cuisine. The wine list, curated by Catherine Picard is constantly evolving along side the menu and leans toward natural selections.
Reviews consistently praise Moccione as an exceptional Italian restaurant in Montreal, where handmade pasta and fresh ingredients create deeply flavorful dishes and refined textures. Diners highlight standout items like crudo, trout tartare, gnocchi, and a variety of seafood plates, complemented by thoughtful wine and cocktail pairings, though a few desserts and some mains are described as less remarkable and a few dishes feel pricey or portions slightly small. Service is repeatedly described as warm, attentive, and professional, with a cozy, vibrant atmosphere that encourages sharing and savoring multiple courses, and reservations can be hard to obtain. Overall the consensus is that Moccione delivers a memorable dining experience, representing one of the top Italian options in Montreal and a restaurant many guests are eager to return to.
The best restaurant in Montreal by far. I had the most incredible experience! The food is out of this world & the service feels like you are with family! Love this place
What a wonderful experience. Food was delicious, service was on point, the attention to detail was great. Cozy atmosphere as well. Definitely will be going back.
It's OK.
Food is not bad, but not enough to justify the price you pay.
(I'm not from Montréal, so this is based on my experience from Italian restaurants in many countries within the same price)
They reuse the same sauces in different dishes, so the flavours are kind of repeated. I feel like for a restaurant in this price range, they could make a bit more effort for the sauces. For this reason, I will not go back until the menu is changed.
My favourite dishes were the gnocchi (7/10) & the pistachio gelato.
I feel a bit bad giving this rating because I LOVE their pizza place.
Service is good.

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews. If you're planning on taking a trip to Montreal make a reservation at Moccione. This place is ah-maz-ing. Wine list is extensive, but by the glass is very small. My advice is to get a bottle even though it's a bit more pricey. It will make more sense than just 2 glasses of wine.
We ordered the burrata, the veal ragu, gnocchi, & cannolis of course. As a former cannoli hater, Moccione has officially proved me wrong! Best cannoli out there. Hands down. Better than the ones I've had in Italy. The burrata is creamy, the heirloom grape tomatoes are crisp, along with the fresh basil. The veal ragu is WOW. Not overpowering, but the veal is so tender it melts in your mouth. The gnocchi for being cream based is not heavy at all, so don't let the cream base stop you from ordering it.
Good but didn't meet my expectations after all the hype around this place. I enjoyed it, especially the fried zucchini flowers, but I'm not in a rush to go back.
Fabulous experience at Moccione. From the moment we sat down the service was excellent & lots of interesting wines to try by the glass.
Starting with entrees of arancini, calamari in arabiata sauce & zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta was awesome. Pasta dish after was better than any we had in Italy. & finally the grilled octopus was to die for. Cannoli were a superb ending!
All in all an excellent evening & we will definitely be back soon.

Nourriture incroyable!!

Great food..local products...cozy atmosphere...super nice owners...great music...one of the coolest Italian inspired restos around...staff coming from le Toque...the top restaurant in Canada. Congrats guys for a super new hot spot!!
This place was soooooo good. I was skeptical because I had just arrived from Italy & doubted the food would be as good. Boy was I surprised. The Negroni sbagliato was done to perfection, the meat was amazing, the pasta was fabulous, the veal ragú was delicious & the stracciatella with tomatoes & basil was a dream. I would definitely come back here, no wonder this place has such amazing reviews.
The hostess was incredibly nice & she even spoke some Spanish with us! Try this place out for a romantic dinner, you will blow your partner's socks off!
