🍟 The Supporting Cast:'Suzie Q' curly French fries - A massive pile of seasoned, coiled fries served alongside the burgers that makes for a fun & classic diner side.

The staff here was amazing & incredibly friendly. What really stood out was the speed-service was lightning-fast. Before you even realize it, the food is served piping hot right in front of you.

The Steer burger was trés bien, merci! It was a great place to try some local food. Poor Montreal is heavily under construction & these guys are right on the main torn-up strip. But definitely worth stopping in if you're up in that area!

Mister Steer pour moi c'est une histoire familiale. Mes grands-parents & mes parents y vont depuis leurs jeunesse. & l'histoire continue avec moi. J'adore le Steer burger & le Suzie Q! & quand je veux bien finir le tout, je prends un milkshake au chocolat.
Cependant je vais être franc, le service n'est plus comme avant. Je trouve le personnel moins accueillant & le dernier serveur que j'ai eu avait énormément de difficultés à me parler en français & me répondait en anglais.

Les burgers étaient vraiment délicieux !! La viande était bonne, & les'frittes' très croustillantes & bonnes.
La serveuse était très sympa & drôle.

Atmosphere. Nostalgic & classic old style restaurant. Clean, warm atmosphere.

Service. Friendly, bilingual, knowledgeable & accommodating.

Food. Always consistently good.

Stopped by for a basket of fries & a drink with friends.

As usual the fries was a large portion, enough for three adults to snack on with a drink. Curly Q fries were crisp & perfectly flavoured, not greasy & you could not smell anything - which is what you want because it means the restaurant is changing their frying oil properly.

I have eaten here hundreds of time & loved their all beef, no filler hamburger. This is the only restaurant in Montreal from the beginning, that would form its meat into a weighed ball & then press on it to form the shape of a burger. You could almost say that Mr Steer was the first smash burger joint in the city - only that they don't squish it so much that it's a crispy burned dead piece of meat lol. Their burger is done just right, similarly to how What a Burger does.

I also loved that they sell Rootbeer & they serve it in a chilled mug. Tasted to good.

Bottom line. Will I return - without a doubt!
