I was in the mood for a delicious dosa this morning; so I decided to stop by Mini Punjab to satisfy the craving. I ordered the plain dosa; which came served with chutneys & some sambar. The dosa itself was great, & the pricing felt entirely fair & reasonable.
The sides were a bit of a mixed bag, however. The sambar was okay; but the chutneys left something to be desired. The mint chutney was alright; but I really missed having a classic coconut chutney to go with it. Beyond that, their South Indian menu options feel a bit limited overall. They did not have additions like ghee or podi; & idlis were surprisingly not available before noon. As a huge fan of ghee; I really wish they would offer it as an add-on option on their regular menu.
That being said; the visit was still very pleasant. The lady who served me was nice, polite, & welcoming throughout but did seem to speak French or even English very well. It is a good local spot with good potential; & I will definitely be back to sample some of their North Indian specialties!
Had an amazing experience at Mini Punjab Restaurant! The food tasted just like homemade food - fresh, flavorful, not too spicy, & not oily at all. We tried the chole bhature, dosa, mango shake, & rasmalai, & everything was delicious. The rasmalai especially tasted fresh & homemade. Highly recommend this place if you want authentic Indian food with great taste & quality!
My wife & I have a standing date night on wednesdays & we love trying out new restaurants. We live right by this spot & we both love Indian food so it was a no brainer. We were so pleased when we got there. We were greated by friendly staff & we loved the vibe. The food was lovely & our waitress was so nice. We will be back for sure.
I was excited to share my experience
Actually I was craving for authentic Indian food so I visit Mini Punjab n I really feel that natural taste of spices & the portions are good enough really like the place.
I was craving Indian food as we arrived in Quebec. We came across mini Punjab & loved the food, hospitality, the portions are huge. We had samosas as an appetizer & it was the size of my hand lol it tasted fresh & delicious! The masala chai was just as tasty as the food.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Montreal! As a big fan of Indian cuisine, I've tried many restaurants over the years, but this one truly stands out & has quickly become my absolute favorite. Very authentic Punjabi cuisine - I wouldn't go anywhere else!
I've been here many times since they opened, & honestly, it just keeps getting better each time.
Here are some highlights & must-tries:
Samosas: excellent (the best I've ever had!)
Lamb dishes: tender meat, generous portions
Butter Chicken: outstanding
Vegetarian options: Daal Makhni, Chana Masala, Aloo Gobi, Baingan Bharta (fantastic), Palak Paneer - all delicious. Perfect to share if you're in a group.
The thalis are also a great option if you're dining solo. One small suggestion: it would be great to have more combo options for 1 or 2 people (more lamb options, including a starter, for example?)
Prices are reasonable for the quality & generous portions.
🌶? Spice level: If you love it hot, they can adjust the spice to your taste when you ask. :)
The atmosphere is simple & unpretentious. If you dine in, you might notice the place could use a bit of renovation or décor, but there's a screen playing Bollywood music & dance, which adds warmth & charm. They took over a former breakfast spot, so the furniture & décor are the same. Still, it's cozy, casual, & welcoming.
The service is exceptional - you'll feel right at home. It's a family-run business, & you truly feel like part of the family.
In short, Mini Punjab is a hidden gem in Pointe St-Charles! If you're looking for warm service & delicious, authentic Indian food in a relaxed setting, you'll love it. Takeout is also available. & I almost forgot: it's BYOB!
Sooo delicious, very welcoming & kind service. Hands down best Indian dishes we've had in the neighborhood. Everything we had was flavourful & satisfying. We plan to go back.
Very reasonable price & fast service
Everything is so delicious here & great quality
Must try their parathas & Indian chai
Food is absolutely delicious. The best authentic Indian food I've had in Montreal & reminds you of your mom's traditional cooking.
We contacted mini Punjab to cater for a documentary screening, which was a great hit. We ordered their samosas, chicken tikka, chai, onion pakora, & naan.
The service was exceptional & the food was a big crowd pleaser. Definitely recommend for some authentic Indian food. Ps: this is coming from an Indian so you know its the real deal.
