Review Summary

Overall, reviewers describe Mini Punjab as a warm, family run spot in Pointe St Charles with welcoming staff, generous portions, and good value. The food is widely praised for authenticity and flavor, with favorites such as butter chicken, paneer dishes, samosas, chana masala, dal makhni, aloo gobi, baingan bharta, and especially the naan. The menu offers a broad range including vegetarian and meat curries, thalis, and street food options, and spice levels can be adjusted to taste. The service is repeatedly highlighted as friendly and attentive, making guests feel at home, and the atmosphere is simple, cozy, and unpretentious with Bollywood touches. Takeout and BYOB are available, and catering has impressed for events. A few notes of caution appear about certain items like kulchas or parathas needing more salt, and a dish order mix up in one experience, but these are outweighed by consistent praise. Overall, Mini Punjab is seen by many as one of the best Indian or Punjabi options in Montreal, a reliable go to for flavorful, comforting Indian dining.

Everything I have ordered from Mini Punjab has been delicious. The butter chicken sauce is one of the best, the onion baaji is perfect, the paneer dishes are my favourite especially the paneer korma. Masala chai is also delicious. Always happy when I come here & the employees are very kind.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Montreal! As a big fan of Indian cuisine, I've tried many restaurants over the years, but this one truly stands out & has quickly become my absolute favorite. Very authentic Punjabi cuisine - I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I've been here many times since they opened, & honestly, it just keeps getting better each time.

Here are some highlights & must-tries:

Samosas: excellent (the best I've ever had!)

Lamb dishes: tender meat, generous portions

Butter Chicken: outstanding

Vegetarian options: Daal Makhni, Chana Masala, Aloo Gobi, Baingan Bharta (fantastic), Palak Paneer - all delicious. Perfect to share if you're in a group.

The thalis are also a great option if you're dining solo. One small suggestion: it would be great to have more combo options for 1 or 2 people (more lamb options, including a starter, for example?)

Prices are reasonable for the quality & generous portions.

🌶? Spice level: If you love it hot, they can adjust the spice to your taste when you ask. :)

The atmosphere is simple & unpretentious. If you dine in, you might notice the place could use a bit of renovation or décor, but there's a screen playing Bollywood music & dance, which adds warmth & charm. They took over a former breakfast spot, so the furniture & décor are the same. Still, it's cozy, casual, & welcoming.

The service is exceptional - you'll feel right at home. It's a family-run business, & you truly feel like part of the family.

In short, Mini Punjab is a hidden gem in Pointe St-Charles! If you're looking for warm service & delicious, authentic Indian food in a relaxed setting, you'll love it. Takeout is also available. & I almost forgot: it's BYOB!

I just found out about this place being open on Center & had to try it out!

The menu is really fun with classics, but more importantly many dishes you'd typically have at an India home in a family setting.

They have a great selection of street foods & will spice it up or down just as you like it 😋

Masala dosa was great, as was my friends chicken dosa. The other Thalies being served to other patrons all looked fantastic!

Il be head back to MINI PUNJAP to try most everything on the menu, & so should you!
