Got the buck a shuck oysters (actually 1.99) & the jalapeno sauce it came with was awesome. The steak tartare was very good & came with a super generous portion of fries. Came in on a Monday night at around 6 so it wasn't that busy. Sat at the bar & bartender was really good. Very friendly & provided some good suggestions.
Plusieurs visites de ma part dans ce restaurant à chaque été. Les huîtres à 1$ sont fraîches & grosses. Les mets de steak sont cuits de manière impeccable selon notre demande. Les frittes sont minces & croustillantes. Les cocktails sont à point. Le tout est très savoureux !
My steak was nearly cold, covered in sauce...next to a mountain of fries which you can have à volonté. Sadly, I was not quite pleased with my experience. I was looking forward to trying it out & had heard such good things about this place. Oh well, I tried it.

L'endroit est charmant & avec beaucoup de cachet. Le service était très bien. Nous avons eu une belle expérience jusqu'au moment de la facture. En effet, nous étions arrêté à ce restaurant lorsque nous avons vu la pancarte ; huîtres à 1$. Il s'avère plutôt que les huîtres étaient à 1$ & 99 sous écris en miniature sur la pancarte. Ce procédé est malhonnête. C'est dommage car nous n'y retournerons pas en plus d'en parler allègrement à tous & à toutes. Je pense que le propriétaire est perdant en utilisant ce genre de technique trompeuse.
Food was just so underwhelming. The steaks had the consistency of liver (as if they were first boiled in water or soaking too long), the oysters were not fresh, & the salad was meh. The fries were amazing, though. Overall, Mignon is was not worth it at these prices.
The Maitre D was terrible! we had a reservation for outside & when we came in, it was raining outside so we asked for inside & she said I'm sorry there's no place but the whole restaurant was empty. We sat at the bar & the whole time we were sitting at the bar, no one came in to eat, & the inside restaurant was empty
J'ai récemment dîné au "Mignon" & voici mon avis : J'ai commandé un tartare de boeuf avec salade, mais j'ai trouvé qu'il y avait trop de salade & pas assez de viande. La crème brûlée était somme toute banale, sans grande surprise. La nourriture était correcte, mais sans éclat particulier. Les autres convives de ma table avaient pris un steak de 7oz avec des frites. Ils ont également trouvé qu'il y avait trop de frites & pas assez de viande. L'addition était plutôt élevée, avec environ 100$ par convive, boissons, taxes & pourboire inclus. L'environnement du restaurant est agréable & il y a du potentiel. Cependant, pour le prix, j'attendais une meilleure qualité & des portions plus équilibrées. Je pense que ce restaurant pourrait améliorer certains aspects pour offrir une expérience plus satisfaisante à ses clients.

Pas à la hauteur de nos attentes. Samedi soir. Le resto était occupé sans être plein à capacité. Mon poisson (bar) n'était cuit qu'à moitié. Comme si le filet n'avait pas été totalement déposé sur le grill. Celui de ma conjointe était cuit de façon appropriée. Le service a été terriblement lent. La cuisine était débordée apparemment. Il a fallu attendre environ 50 minutes avant de recevoir notre entrée. Puis, après 90 minutes, nous avons eu droit à notre plat principal. La musique du parc Vinet (adjacent) raisonnait à tue tête & l'ambiance durant la durée du repas était insupportable. Bref, une expérience en deçà de nos attentes. Je ne crois pas que nous y retournerons.
We were looking forward to trying this place but were a tiny bit hesitant based on some of the previous reviews. I'm happy to say that the service was great. We felt like the staff was attentive & pleasant. The music was not too loud & the food arrived very quickly. We enjoyed the fries & the bread but unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviewers who said that the Mignon sauce had a powdery texture. It did taste good but the texture could be improved. The other thing was that my steak was burnt on the outside, initially I thought it was charred since it was smothered in sauce so I couldn't tell until I had a few pieces that it was indeed burnt. Tout d'abord la terrasse cachée en arrière du restaurant est une belle surprise. Ensuite l'équipe est super sympathique & professionnelle. La cuisine est excellente & raffinée. Seul bémol peut-être la taille des portions qui pourraient être légèrement plis généreuses. À ne manquer en tous les cas.
Rapport qualité-prix d'un attrape-touristes. Le steak est clairement de mauvaise qualité, la sauce « spéciale » goûte la farine. Il y avait plus de patates dans la guédille que de homard, & elle coûtait 18 $. Les frites sont surgelées... c'est pas sérieux. Les boissons sont trop moyennes aussi. La seule chose de décente était le pain. Ils coupent les coins ronds à chaque opportunité. Honnêtement, je leur donne 4-5 mois...
Just a wonderful little place, with superb food & a delightful cocktail menu... Sat at the bar, service was impeccable, swift, & friendly. A pleasure to experience 🙂
Stopped by on my way to go running with friends when I saw the $1 oysters sign. Who doesn't like a spontaneous deal when you're hungry?! I saw the white napkin rolls, fancy-ish looking place, & then realized I was wearing neon shorts. Yikes. But the staff didn't flinch - I got a great seat on the beautiful patio & the servers were super attentive. The oysters were really delicious as was the mignonette!
Everything was perfect. The steak was well done, the fries were excellent! Crispy, hot, salty, what more could you ask for? UNLIMITED FRIES! That's what! Oh & give the dill pickle martini cocktail, it was just what I needed after a long day. I didn't have any oysters but, the oyster special was very popular with the finance bros at the next table.
