Consistently excellent small local cafe right in the thick of things in the Ville-Marie/'downtown'.
We bought some of their Black Minivan beans to take home, & they were an amazing classic Italian-style roast with tons of body & depth.
I came here multiple times during my short stay in Montreal. I'm usually not a fan of matcha from cafes but this one exceeded my expectations. Couldn't recommend their iced matcha with the lavender earl grey syrup enough. It was so refreshing! & the service was also so friendly!
Really friendly & knowledgeable staff, they really knew the products they sold & were able to both explain the best way to brew their different types of take-home beans, along with answering questions from customers concerned about dietary restrictions. The maple latte was delicious & spot on, served quickly & with a smile. The cafe is a bit on the smaller side, & it'd be difficult to fit more than a half dozen customers at once. Nevertheless, conveniently located & worth a visit for that morning caffeine & dopamine hit!
Very chill cafe with a nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly & the snack offerings are of pretty good quality. The coffee is superb but I'm not going to pretend I'm a conoisseur. It is study/work friendly but it can also get busy as it's not a large space so have some headphones ready if that's your intended purpose here.
Got a latte, i could taste citrus notes & the bold texture. It worked its magic. They were playing psyche-chill tracks, & I locked in for an hour straight. The cafe got busy towards closing prolly cz it was raining cats & dogs lol
Got the Lavender latte, best one I've had. Definitely a go to cafe if you're in Montreal!
Food:
MELK was a great coffee stop. The mochaccino was smooth, rich, & not overly sweet, with really nice latte art on top. The matcha was also excellent, bright, creamy, & clean without being bitter. The croissant was the standout food item, with a deep golden crust, crisp flaky layers, & that buttery center you want from a good café pastry.
Service:
Everything was quick & easy, & the drinks came out looking as good as they tasted.
Summary:
A really solid Montréal café. Great mochaccino, great matcha, & a legitimately good croissant. Simple, polished, & absolutely worth stopping in.
