McLean's has become a landmark bar and restaurant in the downtown core of Montreal with its authentic Irish Pub atmosphere. McLean's a wide array of food dishes and a wide selection of imported and domestic beers. McLean's pub-style decor provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy all the latest sporting events on one of the many big screen satellite TV's positioned all around the bar. Upstairs, guests can partake in a friendly game of pool or just sit back and enjoy the company of good friends.
McLean's Pub offers a welcoming, lively atmosphere with attentive staff, cold beer, and a vibe that suits quick bites or long game nights. Located in downtown Montreal, it delivers solid pub fare such as fish and chips, poutine, burgers, wings, and crowd-pleasing specialties, all paired with a broad beer list. Two levels with billiard tables and a terrace provide flexible spaces for conversations or celebrations, while the central location makes it convenient for pre- or post-game visits. Sports on multiple screens, a lively crowd, and a sense of community keep the energy high without feeling chaotic. The team is consistently described as friendly, welcoming, and helpful, often going the extra mile for birthdays or large groups. Overall, McLean's Pub stands out as a dependable spot in Montreal for great drinks, solid food, and a social, upbeat atmosphere in the heart of the city.
As someone that is Irish, from Boston & has been to an authentic Irish pub this restaurant utterly confused me. McLeans claims to be an Irish pub but one look at the menu told me different. No Irish staples like bangers & mash, Shepard's pie, corned beef, lamb, etc. Just average pub food. A little disappointing to eat at on St Pattys Day. On a positive note the food came out very quick & staff was friendly, had plenty of screens to watch games & met other customers & had very friendly conversations with them. Decent place to grab pub food before hockey games - just not Irish pub food
Cool pub. Has kind of an Irish pub feel. Server was great.
Pretty decent selection of beers which seems to be unusual in Montréal for some reason. For example, multiple IPAs whereas a lot of places seem to have just a couple. & often, the servers don't seem to know much about the beers. In Mcleans' case, the server was knowledgeable.
Really liked the fish & chips. Mainly the fish part. Chips were ok.
Doesn't look like much from the street but decent inside.
Prices were competitive with what I've seen elsewhere.
Price for three IPAs, fish & chips & a small pizza was about $70 US.
You gotta go & look into the men's restroom downstairs. The urinals are made from old beer kegs. Something to see. Surprisingly functional. Ladies, the men's room is down the hall past the women's restroom. Be careful. The door was wide open & you could get quite a view.
Great stop for a pint & excellent food. Staff were friendly. Gentleman behind the bar has great taste in music, the female bartender was kind & considerate. Would recommend for anyone interested in Canadian vibes dipped in Irish sentiment!
Another Irish pub visit on our Montreal excursion.. great atmosphere cold beer & quick service at the bar . That's the trick sit at the bar get quick service. Food was mediocre at best but your in a Irish pub. Beer made it better . They serve some massive beer towels a seen by the picture here. Good place check it out ☘?🤙
Best Irish pub in Montréal. Had the honour to visit this lovely gem of a pub in the middle of January this year. Wonderful staff & a really cosy bar with welcoming regulars. A special shout out to the bar lady Kristy who made you feel like a regular the moment you sat down on the barstool!

Great Irish bar with a sporty atmosphere. TVs always showing some form of sporting from around the world. Food always hits the spot. The staff is awesome always!!!!
Short review, environment was good definitely reminded me of an Irish Pub. Food was okay, the fries were good but the rest of the food was probably average, wasn't necessarily bad. The bathroom was in the basement & was not the cleanest.
A great Irish bar in town. It's been around for many years. They have their regulars, they have a nice terrace, a two-story bar, food is available, TVs if you want to watch sports. I'd recommend it!
A great Irish pub in Montreal. We sat outside with our dogs & had fish & chips & a Burger. Huge size. Guiness was good with a shamrock. Service was excellent.
Was looking for an Irish pub to grab a Guinness before going to dinner. It's a great spot that has the vibe of a traditional Irish pub in its ambience. I only wish they were playing more Irish style music. Overall staff was friendly & they have a couple of pool tables upstairs which was nice
Traditional Irish Pub. We had fish & chips & a beer. Everything was good. Great atmosphere. Our server appeared to be working alone. 6-8 parties came in just after we did. She really hustled & got everyone served with a smile. Reasonable prices
